Hey guys!

An intro: I bought my first starter box of 40K back when I was in high school (15 years ago or so), but the store that I had just started going to to play closed shortly after that. Magic: The Gathering had been going very strong for a couple of years at that point and since I couldn't find anyone else that was playing 40K (this was before everyone was on the internet) I just went back to Magic.

Fast forward to 2009, the call of miniatures wargaming had never went away and I had decided that it was time to try again. I started playing Warmachine and Hordes with a few people. I really do love Privateer Press' games, and their considerablly lower cost of entry, but outside of about 4 of us there just really isn't a local meta no matter how hard we've tried to get one going. And with so few of us, and most of us being guys that work odd hours and have families getting together isn't always the easiest.

So I'm going to try my hand at GW's games. I really like fantasy themes, but 40K has more of a community here and that's what I really want.

Also I'm into hobby board games (Power Grid probably being my favorite), and RPGs (Dresden Files, Fate System probably being my favorite).

I'm looking forward to being part of this community and learning from you guys.

Hi Necro,

welcome to dakka.
