... just as I was getting over my addiction, they draw me back in!

Jokes aside, Champions now has a free to play aspect. It is limited in scale, with powers chosen for you aside from travel powers (effectively you have the choice between eight classes, or twelve if you purchase the DLC packets) and create your character with more limited (but still quite good) costume options. From there, you go into the game just like you would in a subscriber's account, although if subscribers get more features or bonuses aside from this, I'm not sure.

At any rate, it's fun to get back into it, and it's even tempting me to get another month so I can play my old characters again. Champions is available over Steam, which is how I got it at any rate.

Aye I'm in there on occasion, its pretty fun for the odd few hours, still not found enough to pull me in long term though.

Although as its free, I don't need to justify my playtime over there.

Add me as a friend then, same global name as on the forum. Perhaps you can catch me sometime.

I play occasionally.

I, too, used to have a payed account. The free trial is definitely lacking in the character design (being able to create your own classes and build your character exactly the way you want to is one of the biggest draws of the premium membership), but it's still a full-fledged MMO, playable to max level.

The store isn't nearly as good as Turbine's model (where you can earn store credit by completing in-game actions), but at least you can still play the majority of the content for free (most of the store is filled with either cosmetic options or account privileges).

I spend most of my MMO time in LOTRO, but I play Champions when I need a short-term distraction. The combat is very fast-paced and fun, controller support lends itself well to long play-sessions, the character customization is still the best around (even with half of the content being charged for), and the stylization of the game is great. They still have plenty of things that need to be fixed, and it has a long way to go before I could justify paying a monthly fee for it again, but it's a lot of fun when you're in the mood for it.

I got really sick of WoW so I have a paid account. I can't for the life of me remember my handle but it's probably a name I use a lot.
