I am using her as a proxy for a Assault SM Sergent. I'm thinking of changing all of my Sergent's and hero's to a SOB of some type. My SM army is called the Black cats (Unlucky marines that they are) and these SOB are called "Sorores Fortunarum" Sisters of fortune. They bring luck to the otherwise unlucky Marines.

This is my first go at painting SOB and having a go at wet blending for the first time. I'm not 100% happy with the base I would like to hide those bars better. I might end up ordering a sack of skulls and burry them under those .

C&C is welcomed.

The hair's come out really well, which can be quite hard to pull off with the white bob. Maybe it's just the pic, but it looks like the black armour could do with a little stronger edge highlighting, maybe?

Overll, it's a really nicely-done SOB. Good work.

I'm both orderly and rational. I value control, information, and order. I love structure and hierarchy, and will actively use whatever power or knowledge I have to maintain it. At best, I am lawful and insightful; at worst, I am bureaucratic and tyrannical.

Thanks! When I think SOB I always have the image of their silver white hair. Plus with tips and help from people on dakka I was able to get my whites looking loads better. I think the picture is making my SOB come out darker than she actually appears, most of the lightest areas are highlighted with 50/50 mix of codex grey and skull white or straight codex grey so it should be fairly light. My marines are only highlighted with codex grey but it looks a lot lighter than the SOB. Plus I really need to get a better camera and read up on some of those photography tutorials.

Cheers! That was more or less the effect I was going for.

Thanks. Painting this definitely makes me want to collect more SOB for my army (I will still paint WYSIWYG SM Sergent in case anyone gets iffy about it) but painting the eyes and face made me want to take a swan dive off my balcony a few times.

well it might make me really weird but the first thing that I had thought when I saw the model was, "gak, she is kinda hot" then I remembered I was looking at a model and I composed myself. So I guess that is a good job.

It looks very good, but imho I think it needs just a bit more highlights. Compared to the rest of you'r army(who btw looks marvelous) the highlights are a bit dull.

Awesome job on the armour. Very subtle!!

I think that my one on-going quibble with the Seraphim models themselves is the connections to the bases. I can't imagine another way to do it though.

Apart from sticking paperclips up them ... http://thegoldend6.com/gallery/sisters-of-battle-2

Thanks everyone.

Yes the bars vex me. I am planning ways to hide them but it is going to have to wait in the mean time because I need to order bits to do so. Why couldn't she just hover by herself

Cheers. I have some time off over the easter break and I plan to try and get through as many as my standard marines as possible before I go ordering more bits .

I would love to have freehanded some stuff on the cape but I am still very new and need to get my skill level a little higher first. That said it is something I want to learn how to do well.
