Hello dakka people.

Hoping you are all well. I have finally decided to share some of my work with you people. I've been painting just shy of two years now, and I’m slow and steady as splitting my time across all my interests is hard work at the best of times.

Anyway, below is my Inquisitor Coteaz model that I have painted as a birthday present for a non-gamer friend of mine, He always shows an interest in what I currently have on the painting table so it felt a good idea.

Anyway, comments, criticism, advice on what may make the model look a bit better, always welcome.

Thanks in advance.

I'm loving the look of his armor and the cloth, I'm a little curious about the model itself. The Eagle that is perched on his arm, is there away to give some shading to the head on the bird? I know its supposed to be a bald eagle, but it just seems too... bland? It just seems the white is overpowering, everything else has nice tones to it, and is very detailed, and like when looking at the final picture you posted, it looks like the white doesn't leave any room for details.

But like all pictures, I'm assuming it doesn't look that way in real life, good job all around

Hey, thanks for the comments, pleased to hear you like it. Couple of bits i'm not overley happy with, the cloth on the front being one. But yes i can see what you mean, and yes the model does not look as bland in the real, but maybe some additional blending could have been done to get more progression thru the colour.

Cheers again.

While you might not like the cloak on the front, I do enjoy how the cloak on the back came out

Cheers. Yeah i agree it worked well on the back, i did make a general error while painting both and had to re-do a few layers. I lost it a bit on the front due to the smaller detail.

Aha!

Looking good man! I reckon Chris will be pleased with that!

Oh and Alfndrate: White can overexpose with photography, so you cant see the modelling detail as well as darker patches. That'll explain your perception of blandness!

Anyways, love the base detail you've put on, nicely finishes of the model!

Oh and another thing.....I know Orky Chris comes on this site for greenskin tactics. Any idea what his username is (if he has one!)? What's he been up to... >_>

Oh I know, absolutely. I was hoping that was just the case. I mentioned it was probably just the general issues with the photography, a photo taken next to a window might help alleviate some of the issues with the overexposure. I've got a few white models in my gallery, natural daylight does wonders

Actually this was taken next to a good source of natural daylight. This weather we brits are having at present inspired me to get some good, well lit photos. The white is over powerful, i'll admit that, and if it wasn't for the fact i'm giving this model away tonight i would try again with the exposure settings on the camera.
