This has been an on and off again project. I have over 9 Crisis Suits and 1 Broadside to paint. I have one Firewarrior painted, but I think I am going to change his secondary color from Enchanted Blue to Ice Blue with Enchanted Blue highlights.

Here are several pics:

I forgot to put on the Drones here -

This Hammerhead doesn't have any of the transfers on it yet -

and the others -

This is my Pathfinders Devilfish - I used the sensors to represent the communication beacons etc -

I have 3 Piranha and I am wanting to buy at least 3 more if not a full 15 -

I don't use the SkyRay much, but I like the model - I magnetized the turrets so I can switch between Railgun,Ion and Skyray -

I love my Stealth Suits and primary use them as Markerlight delivery -

I hope to finish off the vehicles and get started on the troops. Currently all of my Kroot are painted a base blue and look like Navi from Avatar. All Kroot and Hounds will look Ice planet born - (they really need some fur coats!)

Awesome! Any chance you could run us through exactly how they're painted?

Also, any chance you'd used gloss coat on the vehicles? On the white, at least?

aaaah, you have a keen eye! Yes, some of my vehicles have a Gloss and others a flat. I wanted to see which I liked better.

Now the key to any paintjob is buying the best most elite and highend spray paint and apply it in the most skillful and patient way or you could just do what I do and run over to Home Depot grab some Valspar can for $3 and put two thin, but solid coats on it.

(I will say that the suits seem to have more snap when Gloss white is used - I think its just the armor carapace feel comes out more)

Highlight Lines = Enchanted Blue - (I will let you know that I have had 3 Brain surgeries and have a bad left side, so please excuse the sloppy straight lines here and there.)

Secondary color = Ice Blue

Here are some more I forgot =

I have Farsight, but generally use this guy -

Here is my modified Broadside I found a version of on the internet and copied -

I LOVE this color scheme. It may be because I'm partial to that color blue, but it really looks sharp with the white.

I love seeing unique paint schemes like this. Very original!

I take painting/converting commissions!! Help feed a poor college girl!! [:

Are you familiar with Nard's Tyranid army? I'm not sure if he's on here or B&C, but you two share this anime-like style of outlining your armies that fits completely.

Also the Tau are only a few years from making full blown Gundams anyways, so why not have the rest of them look that part. ^_^

You have done quite a nice job on the painting there mate, however as I have noticed, you have several different sept markings on the models, any reason as to why?

I like how you have done some conversion work on your models, I personally try to convert almost every model in my armies so I like that. The blue in the recesses on the commander really looks amazing however on the broadside you have painted it on the raised corners as well, I'm not sure about that. But good job all around either way...

I agree. I have been looking at different methods to try and bring out the suits edges, but most don't look as nice. Do you think the Commander style shows enough definition or does it get washed out in the white?

Lovely painting mate - clean, crisp, simple and effective. Would love to have a game against an army like this - hard to find other gamers with fully painted armies!

This is exactly what tau should look like, fantastically executed! Not like my lame friend who paints them black and shades them with some grey. Shame on him. Happy face.
