Well, I'm picking up epic and getting out of 40k. So, I've got a couple of 1000 pt armies laid out and ready to go (Black Templars and Ghazghkull Horde). Here's a 3000 pt list for the Templars I want to work towards:

Tactical Detachment
-Supreme Commander
-3 Rhinos

Tactical Detachment
-Chaplain
-3 Rhinos

Devastator Detachment
-Razorback, 2 Rhinos

Thunderhawk

Assault Detachment
-Chaplain

Devastator Detachment

Terminator Detachment

Terminator Detachment

Thunderbolt Fighters
-2 Fighters

Warhound Titan

Warhound Titan

The Plan: Thunderhawk with Assault/Dev detachments and Thunderbolts go for Blitzkrieg. At the same time, the 2 Tactical detachments work towards a 2nd objective for Take and Hold. 1st Dev detachment and Warhounds go for Defend the Flag, and Terminators teleport in where needed.

Thoughts?

Solid marine list. But one word of warning. Marines do require a little finesse to play well in Epic. They are not a blunt instrument and can't play a grinding style of game easily.

Hit fast with overwhelming force is the plan.

Right, that's why I like the E:A Marines more so than the 40k marines. They really are an elite, scapel-like army.

I figure a pair of Thunderbolts and a Thunderhawk could blow past anything standing in it's way, with the assault squad and dev squad inside the Thunderhawk hitting the ground running.

The Thunderbolts could then peel off and start hitting targets elsewhere.

Warhounds are pretty well priced, and a pair of them gives me a good amount of MW to throw out.
