I am starting a machinima and need help with technical stuff such as getting rid of the HUD in reach so i can film, getting the film of the x-box and onto my laptop and most importantly how to do all this with 5 pounds a week, a laptop, a copy of halo and a small group of friends who cant focus for more than 5 minuets!

I plan on submitting the story to Dakka to see if its worth making. I wont write any story yet because i am on holiday in Iceland (its pretty cool but a bit expensive) but i can give you the title...

If it won't take that long to produce, you can just get the trial of Sony Vegas 10 Pro off of the Sony company website. 30 days.
I believe that the machinimators (that's the term, I believe) either use Theatre Mode or just edit it to cut out the HUD. Think letterboxes.
As for getting decent footage, you will have to buckle down and get a capture card. There really isn't any other way IIRC to get Xbox footage onto a PC.

How much capture cards cost because if its way out of my league ill just make it a written story with weekly updates on another thread.
