So, bagged me a ticket for this years Games Day, replete with an additional ticket for the second seminar.

Not sure how it's been the past few years, but this time around there are three seminars, and rather than one dedicated to each game system, each one seemingly covers all three. Been told by a staffer that something big is being announced this year, but typically said staffer refuses to be drawn further on the issue.

So, anyone else going? Anyone care to speculate what this big annoucement might be? Anyone fancy going for a pint during the festivities (probably toward the end once I've nabbed all the swag I want and been round everything twice)?

Big announcement... they're going to do a "The Hobbit" game?

It really wouldn't surprise me in the future, but they're not allowed to touch that stuff until the movie has been released, incase anything gets out.

Probably the move away from metal to resin/more plastic. if the seminars are cross game i'd say it'd be characters (possibly in resin), terrain and monstrous creatures. Regarding The Hobbit; I'd like a plastic Smaug and some proper giant spiders.

I didn't think much of the seminar last year - just a justification on what they do in White Dwarf. Of the four panel members, three just sat there looking bored (just like me). I wouldn't expect too much different from a seminar about the games - a justification of why they're set up the way they are.

"Pit Crew! Take this box out back, throw in a rabid Honey Badger and SET IT ON FIRE!"

If I were an Eskimo, I'd build my igloo next to a supermarket on a tropical beach.

Hopefully going to Gamesday, but the seminars just don't appeal (neither does getting press crushed in FW que either!)

It could be about anything, new versions of the game, new models, etc.

Still with BL and Golden Demon to browse, I know where I will spend time. Dependant on the Authors more than anything ~

Armies | Space Marines (Void Knights - Own Chapter), Space Wolves & Dark Angels | Imperial Guard Cadian and Kasrikin | Grey Knight/Sisters/Inquisitors | Empire - Hochland | Britanan (Relics) | Mordor & Gondor |

Actually, they can touch it, they just can't show anything yet. It was the same with their forays with the first movie.

There's been a fair bit of hype over bloodbowl and other 'sideline' (forgive me) games such as necromunda of late, maybe they're going to do a relaunch? Could be that the limited edition relaunch of Space Hulk was a tester to see how receptive people would be to some of the older systems being brought back - Space Hulk being relatively cheap to manufacture in comparison to the other systems (supposedly)

Or they could you know, staff members wear a special t-shirts on the day telling you to trust nobody, hand out mystery flyers that tell you to check your inbox for the official GW newsletter...

You forgot a step. First it's the flyer to check your email. Then the official email tells you to check the website on X date. THEN the website tells you to stay classy and stay tuned for more news to come available soon.

I also went last year and had exactly the same experience.

"You call yourselves true warriors, with your palaces and fountains, your medals and parades? I grasped my first axe when I was still in my birth-caul. I earned my first wolfskin when I was still a whelp. I've been fighting every single day of my life, son. Perhaps you're today's challenge, Eh?
