Subject: Homebrew Chapter - The Sons of Anathema
|
 |
Nurgle Chosen Marine on a Palanquin
Dumbarton, Scotland
|
In the depths of the bloody reign of Goge Vandire during M36, the High Lords of Terra conspired against the insane Master of the Administratum. With hidden co-operation from the Adeptus Astartes and Adeptus Mechanicus, a single chapter of space marines was founded in secret, their mission to assault Vandire and his Frateris Templar in the eventuality that he should commit such an act of treason towards the other High Lords that the only retribution would be death.
Armed with weapons containing fragments of the weapon of a long-forgotten saint, and clad in jet-black armour, trimmed with crimson and gold, the Sons of Anathema stood ready to enact their grim duty against Vandire and his fanatical followers.
After Alicia Dominica and her Daughters of the Emperor finally enacted their judgement, the Sons were indoctrinated by the Inquisition, to combat threads beyond their remit or reach.
They now live as a crusade chapter, under the control of Chapter Master Krador Melphus, enacting the will of the Inquisition, against the foes who escape the gaze of The Eye that Sleepeth Not.

Since they're a Crusade Chapter under control of the Inquisition, which Codex do they use? Black Templars? Grey Knights? C: SM?

The Grey Knights are almost exclusively for daemonic incursion. Plus, there's only 1000 of them.
Plus, they're mostly on Titan. In the middle of the most protected (ergo, furthest away from the fight) system in the galaxy.
And they weren't MADE for the Inquisition. They were made to kill the Frateris Templar.

The GK are spread about the Imperium lets not get into them right now.
The frateris Templar were simply guardsmen but really zealous.
The point of the Adpetus Astartes is that they are seperate from the Inquisition and all other Imperial organisations.
Chapters don't follow the orders of the Inquisiition exclusively. They can and will however form close alliances if the chapter agree with a certain wing of the Inquisition.
If you wanted to do this entirely from new then you could say that your chapter has formed very close alliances with many members of many ordos of the Inquisition and are often performing missions for them.
Saying that your chapter was created in secret to destroy Vandire and his armies but was the repurposed to serve the Inquisition solely begins to smell of mary sue...
However you are perfectly free to ignore me.

Aren't the Relictors a Grey Knight descendant chapter?

Nope.
The Excorcists are believed to be the spiritual successors to the Grey Knights. (They are also pretty damn cool)
