Ok, so just finished up with this Khymera, even though it hasn't been based yet. I only have a few days until deployment, so it will probably not get based before I leave, but thought I did pretty well on the look and wanted to share and see what everyone thought. I was going for a glistening look, like it just came out of its skin, and its muscles are all raw and ready. Please let me know what you think, and for once, I figured out how to take some decent pictures!!!!

Constructive C & C is always welcome!!

Thanks all for the comments, it will be based after I get back from deployment most likely, until then, he will just have to rock a bare base!

I think the Flesh could do with some pink dry brushing to pull out the details and give it a bit more flesh like look. Really nice even if you don't.

How did you get the flesh to look so glossy?

Gross!

My only critique is the unpainted claws. Other than that, masterful!

And gross.

MinWax Clear Polyurethane varnish. If you brush it on with a small brush, it gives a good healthy sheen, and actually, in a very light coat, can give the impression of sweaty skin also.

Claws are not unpainted, they are done in blood red, because my current plan for the base is to model a slashed up Space Marine, with alot of claw marks in the armor and through it, hence the bloody claws.

And thanks to all once again for the praise, its amazing to me to look at this model and some of the first that I painted and see how far I have gotten back to how I used to be able to paint in such a short time. Haven't painted since 3rd edition, when I started my Dark Eldar, so its a welcome sight to see that I haven't completely lost my touch I just have to dig the memories out of the vault!!
