Name: Crimson Ravens

Homeworld: Calidrax(Formerly-Laid to Ruin by Eldar)

Chapter Orginization: Eleven Battle Companies, each with reserves, scout forces, and veterans. Companies are distributed evenly among the Chapter's three Battle Barges and eight Strike Cruisers.

Specialty: Naval Warfare, Planetstrikes

Colours: Crimson torso, helm, and limbs. Bronze Aquilla and trim. Black shoulders.

Symbol: An Aquilla with a lightning bolt driven through it.

Primarch: Corax

Lore: The Crimson Ravens are a spacebound chapter. Gene seed-wise, they are descended from the Raven Guard, which has significant influences on their chapter organization. However, the Crimson Ravens have had significant disagreements with their gene-fathers; they consider stealth only occasionally useful, rather than protocol. When the two chapters worked together, they once had a grand brotherhood, knit closer than most by their shared Primarch. However, when Eldar forces attacked Calidrax, the Raven Guard were not willing to bring their forces out into the open, and the Crimson Ravens blamed the Raven Guard for the loss of their homeworld. Some in the Crimson Ravens have called for resentment, but nothing has come of it, yet.

As a result of their Naval Dominance, the Crimson Ravens are frequently able to field Drop Pod Assaults and Thunderhawk Fighters with greater efficiency. Their talent in Planetstrikes leads them to offer their services to some Imperial Guard units making a critical planetfall. They're only occasionally available to aid against an enemy force, except that they will help against the Eldar with all enthusiasm, commit to campaigns against them entirely, and on several occasions have engaged Eldar Craftworlds. They see the Invaders Space Marines as close comrades, since the Invaders launched their assault against an Eldar Craftworld and lost their homeworld to another, and will frequently come to the aid of the Invaders.

Recruitment: The Crimson Ravens recruit from the trillions of orphans throughout the Imperium, taking their pick of war's children before any other service, although they only take from systems their fleet happens to be in. Occasionally children are taken as compensation for the losses incurred in warfare.

Yeah, I'll be writing some fic about these guys, coming up with a scheme for them and all.

My basic idea here was "what if a Space Marine Chapter didn't like its gene-father?"

Probably happens plenty of times...
Mortifactors seem to nothing the Ultramarines but the Ultramarines don't particularly like the Mortifactors.
