Founding:
The cryptic warriors were founded as a need for a fast hitting , hit & run force was becoming more & more dire in the Orgnos sector due the speed freak kult & the treacherous eldar pirates the gene-seed of the raven guard was used as a base gene-seed for there vast knowledge in geurilla warfare, the first batch of 100 marines fought along side there founding chapter for a few years in Orgnos sector targeting speed kult commanders & chasing down & destroying many eldar pirates until the chapter was deemed fit enough to fight on their own without the need of raven guard assistance, The Cryptic warriors were mostly devoted themselves fighting the orks & eldar in the Orgnos sector it took them only 50 years to clear the entire sector of xenos since then they helped to fight countless foes of the imperium .
The Change:
The Necron lord which awoke on the sector of Baraaka assembled a vast necron legions to wipe out all life already purging serveral sectors & heading towards the Orgnos sector the Cyrptic Warriors responded with their entire chapter using their knowledge on hit & run warfare they stalled & even destroyed some of the smaller necron ships however the majority of the necron fleet was heading into including a huge cyrpt ship known as the silencer, knowing that this was the flag ship of the necrons they launced an all out attack with help from the imperial navy, the cryptic warriors battle barges surrounded the crypt ship at the peak of battle their entire chapter desending & taking the fighting to the souless automatons although they were taking casualties they made it to the bridge intending to cut the head of the legion, however the necron lord was a skilled opponent easily butchering the chapter master & two whole companies with his retinue only to be stopped by a stray bolter round to the head however his death triggered the cyrpt ship to make a hyper space jump trapped in this greenish portal many brothers died from exposure while some survived but would be forever changed.
When the crypt ship exited orbit it crash landed into a lifeless desert fortunately there was a working force of shuttles nearby when they went back to the Orgnos system they found it devestated the corpses of thousands of imperial ships littered the area, their home planets were now nothing more than giant lava pools destroyed by extermatius due to the necron threat
Since then, Thier libraians began to die from unknown causes, other imerial forces could not stand their precense , however it had some perks on the planet of turgon II &IV an entire daemonic legion was destroyed due to the cryptic warriors the daemons unable to see their foe were completetly butchered, an infamous eldar pirate base was destroyed by the dwindling chapter, the chaplain who was the only surving figure of authority concluded that the chapter had some how been infected with the pariah virus & it was slowly killing them one by one, the made a pact they would use this advantage mercilessly in destroying the imperiums enemies before they died from the infection so it was that the cyrptic warriors developed a reputation of mercilessness & brutality in their attacks taking down many rebellions, destroying chaos daemons & other chaos forces, but their most hated enemy so far is the necrons for they caused the doom of the chapter.
Due to their absolute refusal to initaite new recruits and the general mistrust towards them by other imperial forces they are a dwindling chapter that will probably be extinct in the next centrury or two
