A while back, I posted a thread about how to maximize IG Close combat and came up with a list:

HQ
2 x Lord Commissars w/Camo cloaks, Powerfists, in Chimera

Elite
2 x 5 Ogryns (In chimera w/Lord Commissar)
1 x 5 Ogryns w/ Chimera

Fast attack
3x 10 Rough riders w/2 meltaguns

Troops
4 x Meltavets in Chimera

The idea of this list was to use the rough riders as a hammer to soften up targets before the Ogryns came in and wrecked their day. It's not a competitive list by any means, but instead a fun list to play against people who think that IG can't do anything in Close Combat. I've finished with my previous project, and I'm ready to begin this one.

Let's start with our leadership: Two Lord Commissars.

The one is obviously a lord with a powerfist. The other, less obviously, is a Catachan Commander with a greenstuffed coat and shirt. I'm going to strip and repaint this, it looks terrible. The third model in that picture is a model I was going to try to use as a commissar, but is just too small.

Next we have the Ogryns:

These are the Mage Knight Tribal Brutes. A Valkyrie heavy bolter with part of a pen serves as the ripper guns. I've got 15 of these guys waiting to be panted. Fun times

And finally, the rough riders:

I decided against using pure Atilla Rough riders because they're $10 a model. Forget that; I'm not paying $300 to use an army for fun. I instead found that Perry miniatures had a line called the Napoleonic Hussars, which looks a lot like Vulpine Bluebloods. Since I'm using my own color scheme and fluff for my army (13th Amalgamated Battalion), this works fine. I will have to model the spears with some brass rods and grenades, but that won't be a problem. I will probably magnetize them as well.

The horses are differently sized, as are the soldiers. However, they're close enough is size to explain the difference as just "Atllians are bigger people on draft horses, while the Vulpines are smaller people on quarter horses." That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Finally, there's the Veterans. I'll just be using my WGF Shock troopers in their usual chimeras.

This shouldn't take too terribly long, and I'll probably be done within the month, if I find the motivation.

I would use her, as a female model she would be smaller (well I think its a female model). If you have her standing on a small rock to give her a bit of hight and a nice paint job she should be fine.
