Hey all. My next 'big' project is 2000 pts of Heresy era Sons of Horus.
The time period is after Istvan V but before the Battle of Terra.

The list 'roughly' is.

HQ:
Horus Lupercal, The Warmaster. (Counts as Abaddon).
Sar'Kell, Lord of the Shadows (Demon Prince, Wings, Warptime, Mark of Tzeentch).
(This is the demon Horus communs with in galaxy in flames, page 90)

Troops.
9 Chaos Warriors + Aspiring champion with powersword. Las/plas, glory of chaos
9 Chaos Warriors + Aspiring champion with powersword. Las/plas, glory of chaos
10 lesser demons
10 lesser demons

elites:
4 terminator champions with assorted weapons and mark of nurgle (to reflect horus elite guard being really tough)

fast attack
10 raptors, powerfist, 2 melta guns.

heavy support:
land raider

5 man havoc squad with 4 missile launchers.

Here is the first shot, showing Horus, a Mk III Iron Armor squad and the demon prince.




Next up is my Mk IV Maximus armor squad, currently in progress, stay tuned!

Interesting themed army... will be looking forward to how this progresses. What model/bitz are you using for Horus?

I don't see it doing too badly in game. Already played a few with it using proxy models.

Its got good CC hammer units (Demon prince, Abaddon, terminators, raptors, lesser demons), good anti tank (Land Raid, havocs, las/plas, meltas on the raptors) and is decent at taking objectives with 4 troops. (The demons able to appear anywhere with a banner and the 2 warrior squads camping objectives in our deployment zone).

The Horus model is from a OOP line by Ronin miniatures, got him on ebay.

Not sure what colours I'll paint the vrock, but I may do it darker colours, to go with its theme of Lord of Shadows.

I'm exited to see where this goes. Heresy armies are always fun.

What is that Lord of Change model? It doesn't seem to come from GW or Forgeworld, does it?
