Well this is the conclusion to my first battle report viewable here:

I intended to add pictures. but once I got home I realized how absolutely horrid my pictures were, so I refuse to put anything less than great pictures in my Battle reports. So unfortunately this conclusion must be retold without imagery to support it. XD

The deployment was dawn of war, and the mission was, you guessed it, capture and control.
There was a commotion off to the right in the dense underbrush. A tau warrior in the advance team swung his plasma rifle to bear and alerted his team leader to the disturbance. As the team slowed to a halt and trained their weapons in the direction that was indicated they heard nothing. Not a sound.
The reports had come back to their cadre, that their sister cadre had been wiped to a man, and the city had been ravaged in their defeat. Their remaining cadre had split itself catch the city raiders in a "hammer and anvil" strike. But now as this advance team waited for any movement, any sound, nothing happened. The city was barely 4 Km away to the north and no communications had been received on any channels. The news was not good. Then it happened. A razor pitch "zzzip" issued nearby and a fire warrior fell shaking in silent agony as a small shard penetrated his neck. Before the team could respond, or even truly register what happened, hundreds of similar shards shot from the underbrush and felled all of them.
Out of the brush stepped the Queen of the Shattered Blade kabal, Iktria, and squad of highborn warriors. She smiled at the corpses strewn before her. The tau had acted predictably, and now the Kabal would smash through the again devided force between them and the portal the kabal would need to use to remove the spoils and prisoners they had collected. this time however, it would not be so easy to decide where this battle would be fought. The energy released from the startup of the portal would no doubt draw the attention of both forces of the Mon'Keigh. But it would also allow the kabal enough time to deal with the nearest tau before the kabal could open the portal and extract their goods and slaves.
As the Kabal began the rune activation to breach the real space membrane, they prepared for the fight to come. And with perfect timing. For before the sun began to rise, the tau could be seen on the raiders scanners. "Well? Go to meet our guests!" exclaimed Iktria as she and her true born boarded the Dark Heart. She was followed by a new figure, a lowly Archon from one of the Shattered Blades vassal Kabals. Jailix Merixshe, boarded himself and readied his weapons his clone field already casting shadows and silhouettes that had no originator. As the tau closed in, Iktria gave one last command "Go play."
