Subject: Has anyone ever played Inquisitor on a smaller scale???

I just tried Inquisitor using 40K scale models and it was brilliant.
I've played INQ before, but never at this scale as I never realised that the game could be played at that scale.
The guy who brought the two warbands with him, fit the rulebook, dice and the warbands in a small miniatures case.
He had two 5 man warbands (one Admech and one Imperium) and 2 Space Marines.
We didn't use the marines, but used the two warbands instead:
Imperium
Inquisitor
IG Sniper
Hive Ganger with a Heavy Bolter
Desperado
Imperial Preacher
Admech
Magos
Techpriest
Heavy Weapon Servitor
2 CC Servitors
Most of the models were converted and each of them was painted incredibly well.
The guy who brought the models stated that this is a really cheap way of staying in the wargaming hobby if you are on a budget and is also a good reason to give your models some real care and attention to converting and painting.
It looks like this could be a good way of staying in the hobby, while conforming to a budget.

We played a home brew scenario where the INQ had to stop the Admech from attaining a Necron Artifact and escaping with it. Basically it was capture/defend the flag. If the Admech was in possession of the artifact after the end of sixty minutes (which was the game length), the Admech won. I was playing the Admech and I just couldn't get close enough to the artifact, not with that with a Heavy Bolter just knocking my guys flying. The sniper guy was good too, until he tried to move from a high vantage point and rolled four 1's and a 2 on his action dice. He plummeted from a great height and landed, randomly, on his head. Much fun. Fun was had by all and we had a fair few people watching and were willing to take part the following week. It's a shame I'm not visiting that LGS again for a while, but I think I will try and spread the word of this to my FLGS as I had the most fun in wargaming in that one game than in the last five years. I'll check out those links... Thanks.

Sounds like a good game. I've never actually used heavy weapons in my games of Inq28...they just seem somewhat hideous. (I've built myself a battle serivtor with twin linked heavy bolter recently but I doubt I'd ever use it in game). Love it when snipers cock up and if it involves them falling out of buildings even better.
As you said in your skirmish game thread a warrior band can cost your about £20 and is a good excuse for painting and converting.
Mine cost be about £25 (excluding the sodding horse that came with the ring wraith).
I hope when you build your warband you have a painting and modelling blog.

Kool looking warband dude.
If I was going to use a heavy weapon, I'd limit it to one only.
I'm not a very beardy player TBH, I'd play this game for the thematics of the game itself and to have a good time rather than the tourney way of thinking and winning at all costs.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your game of Inquisitor.
Playing at 28mm is not the only way to play if you're on a budget. It is possible to build a 54mm one warband very cheaply if you shop around. My latest warband cost me less than £10 for a four man team;

If you're interested in learning more about Inquisitor then I can point you inthe direction of some useful resources.

P.S. Nice warband PDH!
