Hello All,
I have been contemplating picking this up as a side game (I currently am heavily involved and invested in 40K) and I see that terrain and lots of it are critical to the game. My question is this: where do you get it from? Or does the community generally make their own?

Thanks all!

Those are super quick and easy to make and work nicely. You could fill a table with them if you wanted, or I just have a dozen to add to a table.

I made my own terrain, using foamed pvc sheets mostly. There is an arcologies forum on infinitythegame.com/forum which has links to various useful sites.

Usually just make my own personally, but there is several online stores that are starting to make Infinity terrain.

Easiest one I have found is go out to a home depot and buy a massive sheet of 2" insulation foam for a like 15 bucks. Slather it with wood glue, which can also be found there, and spray it to look like rock/cliffs.

One of the nicest example of self-made terrain I have seen form the Infinity forum are these cubes that can be easily stored one inside another like a russian doll. I´ve seen this idea in a couple of spanish LGS.

They can be combined as modules making sniper towers or elevated rooms

Or they can be stored in a box wasting minimum space.

Sci fi textures can be downloaded from here: Sci fi textures.

I agree!

BobbaFett - are the designs/materials list posted anywhere so that I can replicate them?

As far as I know, textures were from this site: Sci-Fi Textures.

And the material is just the usual foamboard. But he glues the printed textures like this:

All this comes form the original thread in the official forum.

EDIT: By the way... if we calculate the money spent in foamboard, printing, glue... and more important: TIME invested on this stuff.... I´ll buy the MicroArt stuff.
I just can waste my time making terrain. I already have a job.

Even the micro art stuff needs to be assembled and painted.

The good thing about printed terrain applique is that if the design is simple enough (basically boxes) you get the effect of incredibly painted terrain, without the time or cost.

Because honestly, most people can't paint as well as what those textures show, and painting those beautiful MDF MAS terrain plain colors is a sad thing.
