I just watched the video on youtube (I'll go ahead and link it at the bottom) and I have to say, I'm half-tempted to go along with them. I HATE working out, in all its forms, so normally I just let these kinds of challenges walk by. But I've learned recently of some other things I can try as excersise. I was just curious how many of you planned on joining in, or if you even considered it.

Also, I think this community of wargamers might benefit the most from a challenge like this.

Despite that, I suppose it is admirable that they're promoting fitness...

If people try , they can lose weight faster than finishing a painted army.

Not if you have colored primer : P

But in all fairness, I wish them good luck, cuz I know how hard it can be.

One cool idea to act as motivation is for every pound lose in a week, you paint one miniature the next. Would be a way to motivate yourself to lose some weight, and a way to get some painting done too.

I'd love to join, but I already look like I'd be fit to lead an army of Tomb Kings.

My best advice is to get a working schedule that you can keep up with regularly. Once you get integrated into a system it'll be a lot easier to keep up with it. And remember, losing the weight is only half the battle. The goal isn't just to lose it, but to keep it off. It's not about losing weight, it's about changing your entire lifestyle into a healthier one.

I think it's the new lifestyle that is the most intimidating. At least to me it is. I've lost a few pounds, but when you start thinking of the future you just lose hope, and fizzle out.

From what I can gather, it's not too daunting once you get comfortable with how much and what you should be eating and doing. My father lost 110 lbs on weightwatchers and has done a pretty good job of keeping it off. It's once you get aclimatized to the 'new lifestyle' thatit becomes easier. There are slips every once in a while, so long as you learn to keep track of what goes in your body, it's really not that hard.

I never thought that a future where you were more healthy and enjoyed life more would cause you to lose hope
