USA! USA! USA!

Just kidding. (I mean, not about the price of Finecast; they are rather pricey from what I hear.)

Hello, Dakkanauts. I'm an old(er) guy by modern wargaming standards; I got into minis in the 80's with D&D and then got hooked on GW around '87 after a dealer on the playground gave me a free beakie. The first one is always free. I've tried the pill, the patch, the gum, you name it, and I still can't stop buying terminator squads.

I'm actually not much of a wargamer. More of a painter/modeler/collector. Used to love painting metal in the early 90's and consider the Ultramarine Codex (you know, that one) a sacred text and eternal reference. Liked 40K when the future was a little grimmer and darker (though, now that I think about it, the battle scenes in the old codices always looked like models of the Swiss Alps from the Sound of Music). I mainly play Space Hulk with a couple of pals. My nerd dream is to build a modern Warhammer Quest set featuring beautifully painted contemporary minis and scratch-built scenery. All I have to do now is beautifully paint the contemporary minis and scratch-build the scenery.

I also like Space Crusade and have written my own ruleset combining Space Hulk and Space Crusade for something a little more tactical than SC but not as intense as SH. Someday when I'm not feeling ridiculed enough I may post them.

Anyway, that's me, Raptor (sometimes I wish my parents hadn't been so enamored with birds of prey) in a nutshell.

Peace!

Unless you're playing 40K, in which case, of course, there is only...you know.
