This is mainly a starting point to get me off my butt and actually follow up on some of the painting promises that I make.

My friend is starting a Death Watch rpg game (you know the FFG one) and I managed to swing it to get the time free to play most of the time. In most of the RPG games I play I like to create or find a miniature that represents my character. And thus Tactical Marine Maynard of the Emperor's Implements has been built.

Feel free to critique me on anything, specifically the power sword effect. One thing I will say in my defence is that this is the second marine I have painted and the camera kinda washed out the edging/highlighting and eyeglow I was pretty proud of.

And for reference here is the first Marine I ever painted, about 7 years ago. He was a freebie from around that time, also Brother Maynard of the Emperor's Implements.

You may notice the half a paint pot of Liche Purple that I used, total lack of any kind of shading or washes etc.

And because I get caught up in these things I also made an Assault Marine with a magnetised Jump pack.

So let me know what you think and feel free to give me some hints on camera work as well as painting.

Glory is fleeting. Obscurity is forever.

The paint looks a bit thick. Try diluting your paints with water. Otherwise they look nice.

They could use some more colour to break up the black, such as the jointing detail in silver.
