This here is the first fully completed model in my IG army. 27 of his mates are getting their eyes and final highlights done (sounds like a beauty parlour doesn't it) with 30 or so extra waiting for paint.
I have highlighted the black armour with mithril silver, painting roughly and trying to give the effect of scratches and such on painted metal. Looks a bit odd here, but should be good on a whole mass of men. I am happy with how the eye goggles came out though. Any feedback very welcome.

Nicely done, the trooper looks like he's been through a few battles without rolling around in the dirt.
The base is a little dull however, otherwise, great job!

I like how that armor turned out, looks like he's been through some crap, just not some crap in a field of mud.

Looks really good, you don't see many guardsman painted like the have ever even left the training camp, let alone fought a few battles, battle damage suits them, and you've done a really good job of it here. Also I really like the goggle, they make him look alive.

Dudes totally seen some stuff, which is great to see. Snarky is right, however, in that the base is very simple. It needs a little something to make it stand on it's own a little. Huge fan of the helmet by the way.

Cheers guys. The helmet is from pig iron productions, and the rifle is from the forgeworld renegade militia arms - which are cool, but splicing them onto cadian shoulders was a huge pain.
I do need to highlight the concrete rubble on the base. My first production tranche, about 60 guys, just have sanded bases with occassional chunks of rubble. I will do some more elaborate urban bases on the rest (as I already have for the HWTs and sentinels), but there is a practical limit for IG because I've got to do about 100 before I even start playing games.
Actually the 28 guys I'm painting first are all rifle-carriers, I figured since they're the least looked at, least likely to be closely examined models, it was better to iron out the kinks on them!
