If he thinks I would perish so easily, he is a greater fool than I had thought. I live, this rebellion shall slowly strangle him, and when he gasps for air, it shall be my blade that punctures his lungs. I am the plague, he is but vermin, his fear has made me stronger." -Lord Dakkon Blackblade
Stygian City, a bastion for the cruel Dark Eldar, surrounded by the treacherous ashlands of Tartarus, unrest brews. With the ever-looming threat of Hive Fleet Seraphim appearances in the frigid north and the secret of being revealed to the Imperium, the Archon Hallbjorn has been consumed by fear. Once a wise but brutal leader, he now unwittingly plants unrest in the minds of his soldiers daily. Executions await any who might speak out against him, disbanding of Haemonculi and Incubi and all things related to them, obscene favoritism of Kabalite Warriors, and the destruction of Scourges, added to his denial of the Tyranid threat, the threat of assassination grows ever higher.
Once a cherished ally of his, a powerful warlord, Dakkon Blackblade, is exiled to the wastes of Tartarus in hopes of crushing all thoughts of opposition. Survival is the only option, however, and Blackblade does not just survive but prospers. An ancient being, the first Haemonculus becomes Blackblade's new ally, and together, they sew the seeds of revolution in Stygian City. Upon his return, a mysterious Archon has gathered loyal troops for him, as well as an unexpected traitor, the leader of a powerful Wych cult, one of Hallbjorn's advisors pledges her allegiance to Blackblade and his cause. The city is engulfed in chaos as the revolution attempts to reclaim it from the corrupt and weak leader. Upon the assault of the Spire, impossible odds stand against the Archon and his revolution, but blackened wings descend from the sky, unleashing a hellish storm of death upon Hallbjorn's soldiers, led by none other than the Scourge who was Dakkon's right hand man before his exile. An even more gruesome battle ensues, a new Archon is crowned leader. This is his reign, this is his empire. With it, he intends to crush the threat of Seraphim and extinguish the nuisance of the Imperium forever.

I apologize if it's poorly written, it's really quite a bit later than I normally allow myself to write. I wanted to set the stage for my Kabal with the background and what lead up to where they are at right now in this story that is unfolding. The idea is where Hallbjorn failed to act, trying to draw attention away from the threats at hand, Blackblade seeks to smother them, for his soldiers to be feared everywhere. I feel as though this quick background is a poor reflection of the writing I'm capable of, though I've always been worse at writing in a universe someone else made. However, it is my intention to write a several part short story series about Dakkon and his rise to power, potentially some stories that take place afterwards, too, but we'll see.
Before I go any further, I'd like to talk a little bit about what my army will look like. I'll start off by saying that I'm not a great painter, nor have I any experience with converting. It's quite likely that the only converting you will see from me will be arm/head swaps, and though I can't paint well, I try my best. I'm very open to constructive criticism, but I ask that you keep it constructive and as polite as can be. That said, any advice would be great, even if I won't necessarily use it!

Now, I have every unit a different color, in the Stygian City, pride in your squad is second nature, where every battle becomes a competition to outperform fellow squads. Entailing this, each squad dons a color they've claimed to be theirs, as it shows who they are amongst the chaos and smoke of the battlefield. Even with each squad having different colors, there is still an overall scheme: light purple bodysuits (except for Wyches who have black with purple highlights), black segments of armor, gold blades, silver and tin for various metals, pale skin, and orange hair.
Since I'm an aspiring author, I love to create characters, and since I can't really do that with Tyranids, I have a ton for my Kabal. They can really be anything from a Wych, Warrior, or Solarite to an Archon or Syren. I try to make them stand out from the rest of the squad. If they do or not may be slightly questionable for some, but the goal is there and I will work for it.
I don't have too much to show off just yet, but I've been working quite a bit on them lately, so I hope to have more soon, however, for now, I just have these pictures of my Warriors and Incubi.
Please keep in mind that pretty much everything is still very much a work in progress.
Warrior with Splinter Rifle: I know, the green eye looks weird, I was trying to give her a green iris but... It didn't work.
Sybarite: I don't really have a comment for her, she's still got work to be done, but I'm pretty happy with her.
Warrior with Dark Lance: I've been meaning to add a blade onto her gun, but since I had so much trouble before, I gave up. I'll probably give it another go soon.
Incubi: I debated on painting the full plates like I did with my Warriors, however, for now I'm really still leaning towards keeping just the outline.
Ready to be shown soon: one Raider, two Ravagers, Dakkon Blackblade (Archon), Lelith Hesperax, and a squad of Hekatrix Bloodbrides.
Ready to be shown soon
ish: Harlequins, one Venom, Urien Rakarth.
Still in the works: one squad of Scourges and Duke (mild) conversion.
