EMPIRE FINANCIAL GAZETTE
Late Edition

The struggle for control of the Bozerite mines in the Delgando Desert intensivied this week following the skirmish at Medino's Rise. An attempt by the regional Imperial governing council to send what they referred to as a "delegation of peacekeepers" to the mines was rebuffed by the Purple Reign. Of particular concern to all involved was the appearance of a Necron recon-in-force also attempting to reach the mines. Although forced to retreat, the Necron presence raised alarms at the highest levels as Bozerite is a key component in the manufacture of void armor. Informed sources told our reporter that the governing council had agreed to a truce with the Purple Reign and dispatched an Imperial Guard force under the command of Commissar Jo-el the Red Fox to rendezvous with them at the Schombobo settlement on the southeastern fringe of the Delgando Desert. There, they were to be escorted to the mines to aid in defense should the Xenos intruders reappear.
When the Imperial units reached Schombobo, they found the settlement deserted and crystalline structures undoubtedly Necrontyr in origin. Within moments, Xenos forces appeared at the settlement edge. Necrons AND an Eldar band of the famed Farseer Keithelm. There followed a sharp clash for control of the settlement.

The Red Fox deploys infantry to deny the crystalline structures while armor lines up on a distant Eldar Wave Serpent.

The Imperial line stretches from the center to the left flank.

The Purple Reign Armor, strong in anticipation of their 'escort' duty, deploy on the right flank.

Necrons move forward on the Imperial right.

They are far stronger than the force that appeared at Medino's Rise. The Eldar cover their right flank.

Dark Reapers, veterans of many actions, take aim at the Guard to their front.

Eldar Rangers take up positions in one of Schombobo ruins.

Von Bryan's Purple Reign move forward to engage the Necrons. Ragnar has strapped on a couple of Lightning Claws and mounted Silver Wolf, ready to trash some metal heads.

Their quarry approaches.

Meanwhile, the Red Fox armor knocks the Eldar Serpent out of the air with a well placed shot.

Necrons move up past the downed construct.

Return fire from the Xenos line damages the Leman Russ. A Mechanicum tech-priest of the Silver Robes Order dismounts and effects repairs.

Suddenly, the Red Fox turret is hit and blown completely off the tank... That is a tough repair job.

The Necrons begin their remorseless advance.

Ragnar charges forward to lead the Purple Reign in.

An intrepid IG squad move forward to silence the Dark Reapers.

Farseer Keithelm summons an Avatar to quell the Imperial impertenance.

Imperials react by sending in their canine unit.

Flayed Ones shamble forward in search of souls for the C'Tan

Giving supreme effort for the Cause, the Tech-Priest miraculously re-mounts the Leman Russ turret!

For a moment, the battle goes quiet as the two sides eye each other menacingly.

The IG squad that had advanced on the Dark Reapers has taken wounds and retreats to the wreck of a Blood Angel Rhino.

Then the Imperial right erupts as Ragnar leads his noble warriors forward.

Necrons drop, only to rise again.

Brother Lavendaro charges the vile Flayed Ones to end their 'misery'.

A golden Tomb Spyder emerges in support of Necron warriors.

The battle for the settlement swirls as Eldar and Necron move to the attack.

The Avatar challenges the Emperor's finest on the left.

The Flayed Ones refuse to go down.

The Guard charge the Avatar. Taking considerable casualties, they manage to push the Eldar creature back. At this point, both sides moved to consolidate their positions as night fell. Late reports tell of sporadic fire fights in the ruins of the settlement.
