From an old gear head this is what I used to do. I had my causal army in a back pack custom filled with soft foam.

Adam's Motto: Paint, Create, Play, but above all, have fun. -and for something silly below-

"We are the Ultramodrines, And We Shall Fear No Trolls. bear this USR with pride".

Also, how does one apply to be a member of the Ultramodrines? Are harsh trials involved, ones that would test my faith as a wargamer and resolve as a geek?

You must recite every rule of Dakka Dakka. BACKWARDS.

You actually may want to keep your eyes peeled at KR Multicase in the next week or so. Let's just say that Daryl from KR is a motorcycle enthusiast.

I use a GW case and a regular pistol case from walmart. The GW case carries the troops and the pistol case carries vehicles and any additional models. I then bungee strap both, stacked one on top of the other, to the rear seat. My rulebooks and other stuff go into the saddlebags.

As long as everything is in foam the models are fine. I tried to carry my historical miniatures a few times. They don't fit in foams well so most are just loose with some foam around them. Bumpy roads and turns really shifts them around quite a bit, so I quit carrying my historicals until I find a better way to carry them.

Like most self-imposed problems, there's not a lot to be done about it, especially since you ride super sports. Find something that fits comfortably behind you, and then bungee/lash it in place as firmly as you can. As long as you keep your shiny side up, that's the best solution for carrying bulky things you're going to find.

I think the backpack with foam trays inside sounds like the best idea for you, by far... there are some pretty good ones out there.

I just got a horrific image of two cases worth of Ork boyz opening up on the highway and their painted, plastic bodies bouncing all over the pavement like caltrops from a spy car. It made me shudder.

Battlefoam is your best friend here. I used to carry my stuff in a big GW hardcase and then strap it across my chest. That worked fine until I quit skaven and moved on to Dark Elves. I've never tried it with my 40k stuff.

I sometimes use an all arms burgen http://www.denbigharmysurplus.co.uk/army-stores/Arms-Arms-Other-Arms_Bergen-Camo-Rucksack.html

I can fit 2xGW figure cases in there, never tried an army case though.

Only problem is that wearing it on the bike can be dangerous.. if you come off, having a rucksack on could play havock with your spine.

Other option is using a bungee cargo net http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?q=bungee+cargo+net&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-GBfficial&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=1815238269223670939&sa=X&ei=2q37Tau8HpOXhQfao4mGAw&ved=0CDYQ8wIwAA.

I've managed to transport a GW army figure case by strapping it to the back sear using the rear pillion pegs and other points to hook it up.. It stayed put and i don't slowly...

The most expedient way to avert crisis is always by the indiscriminate extinction of anything that stands in your way.

wow alot of riders on dakka =) I think the best way to sort the problem is going to be some custom foam inside my normal riding backpack.
