Finlay finished this, its been sitting on my work bench for a while now and I'm glad to finally see it finished and painted up. The only thing I don't like is when I tried to do the yellow it didn't turn out that well.

This is a lovely piece. The urban look you've given your army is always a nice change from some of the more off the wall styles in 40k, without being too emo.

That being said, the jade green parts of the doors are absolutely gorgeous! I'd like to know how you achieved such a beautiful effect. I play Salamanders, and I can think of a few places that a similar looking paintjob would be more than welcome. Could you maybe provide some tips?

Well how I painted it was, I started out with the codex gray base, then I did all of the drybrushing, Fortress gray, then skull white. Then on the bottom part of the drop pod I did a light scorched brown and chaos black wheathering drybrush. Once all that was done I did a Delvan mud wash, then once dry I used Dark angles Green and I watered it down a lot I think a 3 or 4 to 1 ratio. I usually just pull a little bit of paint out and add water with my brush till it gets to a watery consistency almost like a wash. Then when I paint it on I it so that the drybrushing below show's through but is stained the color that I'm painting on. I supose another way to say it is that you want to dilute the color with enough water so that the painting underneath shows through but with the color you painted over it. I suppose like a stained glass effect. I hope that helps.

Looks great! For the yellow you could always try basecoating it Iyaden Darksun or w/e the yellow foundation paint is and then painting over it with whatever technique you were planning on using.
