Alrighty, after seeing some of the amazing work being done with desktop CNC machines, I lay the blame mostly on Warmill, I have decided I want one. After a quick look at my pocketbook, and scaring away the moths, I decided the best option for me is going to be to build one. I have found several resources for tutorials and such on how to do this, but I was wondering, has anyone here done this? If so, any advice or resources you would recommend? General thoughts are welcome.

it is doable but problematic
the issue is you need many parts to be very exact, or else your bit or table will wander, even when doing light work. There's a reason you cant mill on a drill press

My OCD should help with the exactness aspect, I use a CNC 5-Axis on the daily at work, and often work in tolerances of 0.0001" I may (fingers crossed) get a chance to cut my framework on that, removing any flex or instability through having it be one piece of solid steel...

But most likely I'll just build it out of steel pipe.
