Here's some quick pictures of a 500 point force I put together for a "fun" league at the Seattle Bunker. There should be a third Destroyer but it was damaged by my trying to make it fit into GW's pre-cut foam. :(

I'll try to get better macro'd shots in a few days.

The bases are slate from the GW basing kit. I superglued them on, gave them a heavy drybrush with Charadon Granite followed by a lighter drybrush of Codex Grey to bring out the edges.

Actually, I need more of the medium sized slate pieces, so if any of you have some...

Models look awesome ! As for slate try picking up some random pine tree bark and spray painting it or dry brushing it the results are awesome i have a few terrain pieces in the gallery if you would like to see a example

The bases on those Destroyers are fantastic, looks really good. Did you add anything to the slate cause the GW Basing Kit slate I have doesn't look anything like that when I put it on... great work!

Agreed, maybe its just the light but to me they almost look like thaty have leaves on the or something. Just not flat like i would expect slate.

I like the bases, as everyone says.

I hate to inject some criticism, but on the bright side I only have one. There doesn't seem to be anything to make them stand out. They are the 'standard' color you usually see Necrons, pretty standard poses. It seems like there's room for something unique to make them stand out.

Your paintjob, however, is immaculate. These pics should be shown as examples of how to paint Necrons.

Welcome to the Freakshow!

I used about one or two of the larger bits of slate on the Warrior bases and four to eight on the Destroyer bases. I then used the smaller slate bits as "filler" and kept adding until the entire base was covered.

@Jimsolo, I agree about the poses and colors. There isn't a whole lot you can do with the old range to make them more interesting. Skeletons are skeletons, be they metal or not. Hopefully the new range will make them more interesting. As for the colors, I've always thought that after a million years there wouldn't be any colors left except for the bare metals. Any pigment would have turned to dust long ago and the slightest movement would have gotten rid of even that. Then there's the issue of my painting skills being very rusty and Necrons seemed to be the easiest way to get back into the flow of things. I'll be working on my Dark Eldar again sometime next week, so that should be a little more interesting to look at.
