So i am trying to decide whether i should play lotr sbg or wotr and which army
Game wise, most of the players in my area(not a lot of lotr or wotr players) play lotr, but my friend wants to learn how to play and i have a feeling he will want to play wotr and reenact the coolest battles, anyway i know lotr is a skirmish game where you only need a hero and a handful of soldiers, but can play large games if you want, and i know that wotr is a huge battle game, with games somewhere between a hero and 40 soldiers to the nine and hundreds of orcs, but i dont know which one is more fun to play so that is where you guys come in

The other thing is my army. I have asked this question many times,(on other forums) which army should i do, i know you guys are gonna say only i can decide which army i should play, but i love all the armies(aside from the forgotten kingdoms) and i have troops for every army. I would like an army with a lot of shooting so i can blast my opponents force to bits wityh arrows then charge in with cavalry and strong soldiers to finish what is left.
The main ones i am considering are
Galadhrim Elves- I love the two towers and the defence of helms deep, especially Haldir(sucks that he dies) and his galadhrim warriors, plus the models are awesome, and whenever i am asked by my friend which of the battles in any of the movies is your favorite i always say the defence of helms deep(plus these would be good because a friend of mine plays rohan and wants to do a reenactment of the defence of helms deep, and one of the other players has a huge uruk hai army and wants to do the same, i could provide Haldir and his elves if they wanted to do that)
Isengard- I have always liked uruk hai powerful soldiers with the strength to tear a man limb from limb
Dwarves- The models are cool
Gondor- I could(with the help of some friends) reenact the defence of osgiliath
Misty mountains- Dirt cheap soldiers and trolls
Mordor- The nine(plus winged nazgul are just freaking beast, they are amazing, i love to model!)
The fallen realms- I have always like the haradrim, plus they have mumakils(which i own)
So yeah any help or advice is appreciated

Sorry about editing so many times and any errors in my spelling or punctuation, its 2 in the morning!

Have you done some research into the two different systems, and how they are different? There is a ton of info out there.

How is your decision coming along? Fill us in. I'd like to help, but this is a HUGE question.

If you want to shoot, don't take Mordor or the Misty Mountains. As for the nine (in SBG) you can ally them with Isengard and the Fallen Realms. I think your best bet for shooting and then finishing of with warriors is Galadrihim Elves or Dwarves. The choice there is really yours. Personaly I would go for Dwarves, but well, that's your choice.

I chose elves for the shooting and causing fear in WOTR. I have the rulebook for SBG but literally no one plays it out this direction. As much as I'd like to learn as it has fewer models, the battles of WOTR are what drew me to that system. And again... no one to play with! Hopefully that will change when the new Hobbit movies come out again.

Dwarves have a high defense but feel like they're a slower army due to shorter movement ranges.

Never liked goblins or regular orks. The only evil army I have are the Uruks becuase of their coolness.
