I started my Ultramarines army just under 2 years ago, with AoBR. I hadn't painted minis in about 15 years, so my initial army was slightly less than terrible. Since then I have made some improvement, so I am redoing most of the AoBR stuff, along with the new models that I get.
Just so things are clear - I don't choose stuff based on how well it will performs in battle, but how good I think they look (until I have painted it!).
So, now on to my first Land Raider (that sounds sooooo Fisher Price, quite apt) - a Redeemer:

Strong higlights indeed- very striking. I like the look overall, but for details I would have liked the bronzed metallics to be a little closer to gold. The scheme is pretty cohesive though- nice work.

Nice Land raider. I have painted two of these things in my tenure, and each time I almost have to take a hiatus from painting for a few months. I hope you find a good way to use the redeemer, in my experience they seem like a disappointment.

4250 points of Blood Angels goodness, sweet and silky W12-L6-D4
1000 points of Teil-Shan (my own scheme) Eldar Craftworld in progress
800 points of unassembled Urban themed Imperial Guard
650 points of my do-it-yourself Tempest Guard
675 points of Commoraghs finest!

The Dude - "Jackie Treehorn treats objects like women, man."

Lord Helmet - "I bet she gives great helmet."

Great looking paintjob imo although the highlights are a little stronger than i normally go for.My only advice would be to get some mud on those tank tracks(sorry im into dirtied up tanks).

Thanks guys, yeah I was wanting it to be really striking as it is the biggest kit I have and wanted it to really stand out!
As for dirtying up the tracks - I will get round to doing that, but I want to practice on my rhinos first.
Still learning, so hopefully the predators on my desk will benefit from experience!

I like the pristine, right-off-the-assembly-line look. The highlights are just a little bit too extreme for my tastes, but that's a matter of personal preference, and I don't think people agree with me.

Welcome to the Freakshow!

I honestly thought it was a crimson fists land raider before I read and saw the Ultramarine symbol

Where you least expect it...

Next step would be spending more time on details and mayby a few more layers of watered down white. Try making your details a little darker ( like the purity seal), but mayby that's just me. Overall good though!

just because i'm swedish doesent mean that i'm blonde. I just hapen to be anyway
