I play it now and again, it's just painfully slow to level up your tanks.

Tried it, hated it.

Matchmaking system is terrible if your lower tier.

its just a massive grind unless you pay monthly, then its just a big grind.

I played it like crazy during the beta

but I'll have to agree, after spending a lot of time getting several tier 4-6 tanks with premium account and seeing it all washed away, made me stop playing. Intense grinding games arent for me I suppose

tbh Wot is far from intense grinding, go play any western port like Lineage 2 and you will see grinding.

i play WoT fairly casually and i really don't think its all that bad. in beta i started using premium once i had the Tiger and by the time beta was over i had more than a few T7-9 tanks.

i have been playing since launch without premium and i do not thing im doing that bad. I should have my IS tank shortly.

if you take advantage of having a bunch of different tanks instead of grinding up a single tree it works in your favor with the daily double exp for the first round you win. it also helps when you are getting 900-1200 exp during those rounds.

Honestly I don't really see much grinding. Of course, I play fairly casually and view it more as CounterStrike with tanks, so that mindset helps a bit...

5x exp for the extended weekend! (first win of the day per tank of course)

I played for a while Worked my way up to a Panzer IV, but the balance issues have gotten to me and I've stopped. They really need to fix the matchmaking algorithms. I don't mind a challenge, but when you can't damage half of the opponents it's not fun any more.

My only complaint against WoT is that craptastic matchmaker and general balancing stupidity. Lots of the tanks are plain useless, especially when the matchmaker continually puts them into fights with tanks they don't stand a chance against.

I still love it thought, but I'm a tank nut

World of Tanks does involve a lot of grinding. This is mitigated in part by the fact that the game itself is actually pretty fun, so the process of grinding shouldn't tire you out quite so much. One major complaint that I do have about the game is the rubber band effect that you sometimes suffer when progressing up the tank tree. Most of the time, your fully upgraded Tier V tank is almost completely inferior to your brand new, un-upgraded Tier VI tank. That really hampers the feeling of progression, because you may feel like you did a lot of work for no reward (this is definitely more pronounced in some tanks than in others).

They've also completely messed up on how they implemented Scout tanks into the game. Scout tanks are Light Tanks that aren't intended to fight so much as to spot targets for the rest of their team. Because of this, Scout Tanks are often put into battles against enemy units that are far more powerful than they are, that they literally cannot do damage to. If Scout Tanks existed in their own tech trees then this wouldn't be a problem, because then players would have to choose that role for themselves specifically. As it is, Scout Tanks are integrated directly into the Tech Trees to get to battle tanks, so players are forced to grind through multiple Tiers of playing a role that they have no interest in. Worse, newer players that don't understand this mechanic (since it's poorly communicated within the game itself) try to play their Scouts like real tanks, and end up frustrated with the whole game because of it. The German tree has it mostly right, with the Luchs and Leopard being set outside of the main tank progression, but the Russian and American Trees are a mess. In my experience, a lot of matchmaker complaints come from this system as well, as A-20 and M5 drivers don't understand why they're constantly battling Lowes and IS-3s.

I play the game quite a lot, and have since the closed beta. I've almost matched my progress from the beta (had a Tiger II and Panther in beta, up to the Tiger I fully upgraded now, while working towards my T-44). Fun game, which can be extremely frustrating at times, but equally as satisfying when you have a good round.

I played it in the beta.. it was fun for a while but it got old fast. Mostly the grinding to get the next tank was what turned me off. Once you get about half way down the tank list it starts taking way too long to earn the next one, so I got bored playing the same 2 or 3 tanks over and over.

If they made a mac version maybe I'd check it out again, but it's not a game I'd pay for and without paying for things I bet it'll take super long to get anywhere...

My best is 6 in the T2 medium, that thing is great for massacring newbies.

I have to admit though, the balancing is kinda bad. When I first got my tier 3 tank I was immediately put up against tier 4 and 5 tanks that I couldn't hurt, it was very frustrating.

We're watching you... scum.

i had 7 kills in my KV and lost the round due to being TKed because my teammate was trying to snipe the Leo circling me instead of letting me deal with it myself.

i just got my IS this weekend and ill have my Tiger shortly. i also am not using premium and i really dont have issues grinding.

In your base, ignoring your logic.

The grinding is tough when you're stuck against tanks you can't do anything against.

The Pz. III Aus. can't scratch a T1 Heavy's armor and I've gone up against my fair share which makes the grind that much more difficult.

The Pz III A is a pretty lackluster combat tank. You generally can't even get the attention of any vehicle above your tier rating. Your best bet is to play it as a scout, or use it to seek and destroy enemy SPGs.

about all you can do with the tanks that often frequent higher teir games is to outfit them with HE and go SPG hunting.

while you might be able to kill every tank you are matched up against light tanks can really push how each round is played.

you can blitz across the map and find a hiding spot and wait for the enemy to advance past and play in their backfield, you can slowly advance ahead of the bigger tanks and spot them for them to be shot at or you can hang back and dart for their flag and make them have to return to base or lose the match.

This is my second try at getting an account. I've filed a ticket with their customer support explaining what the problem is that I'm having but haven't heard back from them as of yet
