Would narrative battle reports be interesting to see?
Yeah! Pictures and stats just don't do a good battle justice.
Could be interesting, would have to see a finalized full report before I back this though
I can take them either way, doesn't matter
Nah, they are ok the way they are
Nope, pics and stats are just my kind-of-thing

Alright guys, this is not an official battle report yet, or well, not a full report. As I lack a means of capturing pictures and such I was thinking of making my battles into short stories (roughly 1-3 pages usually) and was wondering if there would be enough support to do so. Here is a sample of one turn (rough draft admittably) captured in the middle of a battle that I partook in.

As a refference, I will supply that turns battle report after the short story portion

As Shas'o Ahr'aun took in the carnage that lay about his feet from the savage weaponry of the Gue'la empire his heart sank at the loss of life that could have been used to further the greater good. With a moments respite from the enemies fire Ahr'aun surveyed the landscape looking for targets of high priority. "Broadsides, fire on the vehicles laying waste to our positions, we must advance!" silence was all the response that he got. It was then that he knew they were truly alone. Ahr'aun steeled himself for the end and promised for the greater good that he would take out as many of the enemy as he possibly could before they laid him low. In the distance he saw their objective, an ethereal who was butchered at the beginning of this fight. Was he moving, could it be possible that the ethereal was still alive? Perhaps Ahr'aun's life was near its end, but he could perhaps steal a small victory for his people by allowing the ethereal to reach the escape shuttle, if only he could reach him. With two streaks of white light passing by his head, he saw one of the approaching transports explode in a plume of fire. Human vermin scrambled from the wreckage, some were not so fortunate as the cleansing flame purged them of their existance. With a sigh of relief, Ahr'aun called his fire warriors to advance, with the enemy momentarily disoriented he closed the distance to their objective...

I know it is amateur at best, but I just wanted to get SOME THING out for an example for people to read if they so wish. now, for the battle report (note that this was only the tau players turn, but for explanation I will include the imperial turn as well

Turn 3: Imperial

Movement:
The guard finish their movements toward the objectives and hold position in their pill-box chimeras, a blob of guardsman adjust to protect their flank from a possible flanking maneuvre
Guardsman Marbo comes onto the battle field right next to the broadsides

Shooting:
The heavy weapons teams positioned on a ridge rain death upon the fire warrior squad moving toward the downed ethereal (an objective for this map) and kill 2 shield drones and 2 fire warriors
A chimera fires its multi-laser and kills 1 shield drone
Marbo uses his explosive and insta-gibs 2 broadsides (4 remain, a 1 man squad, and a three man)

Assault:
Nothing

Turn 3: Tau

Movement:
The one remaining fire warrior caste with Ahr'aun attached move toward the objective

Shooting:
Fire warriors move to claim the objective within cover
Broadsides use target lock to fire on marbo and a chimera threatening the objective (kill the chimera, and marbo)

Assault:
Nothing
