Ok I am very new to the warhammer 40k game but have played many of these types of game so I do understand some of it. However I am making a Chosen group of five, two flamers, two heavy bolters manly to set them for infiltrate. My last guy I want to run with ether a pair of lightning claws or a plasma gun and power weapon. My question is can I make him with a plasma gun and power weapon or do I have to chose one of them. The codex kind of does not make sense it keep saying OR can someone help.
Thanks

Do NOT put assault weapons in the same squad as heavy weapons... if you want the guys with flamers and lightning claws to be doing their jobs you're going to have to keep moving and if you're moving then you can't fire the heavy bolters as heavy weapons must remain stationary to fire...

Also 'up to one model' may replace his weapon with a Heavy Bolter so you can't run two HBs.

And no, they can't have both a PW and Plasma Gun as it specifically says 'may choose *one* of the following options'.

ok did not know about the heavy bolter can only be one, I reread the Codex and it made more sense. But What is a good weapon to put with the flamers and lightning claws. I was looking for a group that can take down tanks behind enemies lines, I thought about meltaguns or plasma.

I'm not really familiar with Chosen but you have to bear in mind that it's usually a sound principle to *not* mix wargear that's intended for different purposes.

Remember that your squads can only shoot at *one* target each turn, thusly, if you're shooting tanks with, say, meltaguns, any flamers or weapons not for killing tanks within your squad are wasted as they can't affect the tank.

Thusly it's usually a sound principle to, on a squad for killing tanks (I don't recall if Chosen can take all of these), to take things like meltaguns, meltabombs, power fists, etc. Though the latter of those is quite pricey and perhaps a tad illogical as a squad you send ahead of your army to pop tanks *is going to get focus fired*.

If you want to take flamers and the like, do so against horde armies and *only* take flamers

Or maybe the Heavy Bolter if you plan on standing still...

yes your correct chosen can have all that gear and I would say that metlabombs are a must if your going to run them like that. You might also want to invest in a obliterater, you can deep strike it behind a tank then switch it two twin linked laz cannon or I think twin metla (although it might be multi melta)and he has a powerfist. That way if your chosen get pinned down by something you can just pop him turn two+, that will help with the focus fire problem and keep you from getting creamed by a mech or tankline if your chosen die.

Cool thanks for all the welcomes and Advice. I thought that I had it mailed to me if anyone posted on this but I must of not done it right sorry it took so long to post. The chosen can take up to 5 different types of these weapons this does not enclude heavy bolter, missile launcher autocannon lascannon which you can have one of those but if you chose not to use them you can have up to 5 of these flamer meltagun plasma gun and up to 4 (which would make more sense to run obliterators then these) twinlink bolter and combi weapon power weapon lightning claw power fist or a pair of lightning claws, how ever I was looking for a small group that could do some damage under infiltrating but in most cases I might be thinking to militarily then a small wargame.
