Well its all pretty much on the
GW website.
1. All the basic gangs are pretty much the same and balanced. There are additional gangs that got released after the main game (Spryers, Enforcers for example) that can be very tough to paly against but the game tries to balance thisout by giving underdogs more experience and liiting numbers for some gangs (again spryers and enforcers).
2. Read the rulebook and the DLC, it's all there.
3. About 10 at least
4. They actually represent pretty good value for money when compared to the main ranges. 8 minis foir £20, so thats a yes.
5. The PDF is on the
GW main site, you do not have to buy the rulebook.
7. Its based upon 2nd edition
40K rules, so might take a little unlearning if you are used to 5th edition, but the basic mechanics are the same. It is more detailed though but I first learnt to play it when I was about 14 (21 years ago!) so it can't be that hard!
8. You could play it with 2
D6's if you were short. There is no rolling whole units of dice. Each ganger is dealt with at a time, you onlt really start to roll more that 1 or 2 if there is a big assault or a sustained fire weapon. Really if you had 10D6 plus the sustained fire dice you have more than enough. (the sustained fire dice is really just a D3 so not really that necessary)
9. It's good to have
WYSIWYG (and is encouraged in the rules) but is not necessary. Honestly allot of the metal Necro minis are pretty hard to do even a weapon swap on so anything else can be very hard. Really so long as the roster is keep accurate and clear and you know who each model is (I paint names on the base edge) there shouldn't really be a problem. I always tried to have the right weapons on each model as a minimum so as to avoid confusion. For me this just meant having spare models to swap in and out as weaponry changes.
10. No idea mate.
