I've had this guy lying around for the better part of two years - I had a spare AoBR dreadnought, and I used the autocannons from the Aegis Defense Line, after trimming down the peg they have in the middle. I'm actually surprised I don't see this conversion more often since it looks good to me. Unfortunately, I glued the ammo hoppers on backwards and couldn't get them off, but unless you're a stickler like I am I doubt many people will notice!

Very nicely done. The paintjob is smooth with little errors. Everything looks really good. Keep up the good work.

I like the subtle highlighting.
Great job.

As for the conversion... It's great. Have seen it before, but it's another proof that it really works well. Might consider to do it myself.

Thanks for the comments guys The painting didn't go quite so smoothly initially; I ended up washing the whole thing with Badab Black and I had some pretty unsightly pooling. Even watering it down that stuff can get ugly on large surfaces.

Yeah.. Badab Black can really be a bitch.
I use it only in rare cases.

Good job! I have seen one dred that is almost a clone of yours, whitout counting that yours is better!

It's a fairly simple conversion so I wouldn't be surprised! Thanks for the kind words

Nice use of the AoBR dreadnought AND the Crimson fist marker from the drop pod kit.

Looks nice, man!

Never heard of such a thing before, and I'm not sure what it does on the table, but I am fairly sure I don't want to find out! Good work, and for the record, I totally sympathize on the 'perfectionist, can't stop until I get it right even if no one else notices the tiny mistake that I keep trying to correct over and over again, I'll still know it's there and won't be able to sleep until I re-do it' thing. I couldn't even tell which part is supposed to be on backwards. The whole thing is lovely. I love the way you do the blue fading into black on your models. Whenever I look at any of your models I always hear Kenny Wayne Sheppard playing in the background.

Hah! glad you're liking my color scheme. The ammo hopper is on backwards - the casings of the shells are facing the wrong direction while the bullets are facing to the back of the model. I painted them so they'd look fine from a distance though.

A "rifleman" dreadnought is a dreadnought with two twin linked autocannons. These are officially called "mortis" dreadnoughts, but the option hasn't been available outside of Forgeworld books for some time. They recently became very popular, and have become known as rifleman dreadnoughts because of their similarity to rifleman mechs from Battletech:

I was aware of the Battletech mech of the same name, and was wondering at that...not like Games Workshop to be so 'on the nosey' about things like that.

Man, now I want to convert my dreadnought into a Battletech mech...

It was a fan dubbing, GW has nothing to do with the naming!
