Here's my Army Standard bearer for my WAB army. The model is a plastic 'Perry's and banner just paper.
I would like to bend it a bit more to get a nicer wave and am considering trying to make the yellow bar look like frills but was worried it would just look messy.
It's all free hand, no painting over transfers or print outs. Please tell me what you think and feel free to vote in the Gallery

Nitpicks: The vertical flap in the center of his chest appears to be a strap running from the breastplate to the placard and should therefore be painted as leather. Moldlines noticeable on the left hand's fingers, the right vambrace, the face, and the sallet (looks too sharp to be fluting, but that could be a trick of the light). Banner looks, as you mentioned, a tad stiff, and also a bit too large.
Overall, though, I quite like him. You've done rather well with the freehand (heraldic lions are an awkward shape, which is rather hard to mimic accurately, and fleurs-de-lis easily become lopsided), and the general look is pleasing, if not particularly complicated.
Didn't see any friends for this guy in your gallery. Is he your first, or have you not taken any pictures of the others, yet? I'd love to see even a small force of these guys laid out in formation.

In addition to all the above comments, I'd like to add that the mud base looks pretty damn nice too.

Yep I thought that strap should be leather but I wanted to do it metal so as not to detract from the Plate feel, the mould lines did that thing where the drybrushing really highlighted where I had missed them, as the model is depicted larger than life they're not that noticable IRL. I wanted it to be big as it's the Army Banner, it's size is pretty much the same as the suggested one in the Medieval supplement as well.
I have painted a resonable amount of these guys HOWEVER they are 1:72 (so about 24 mm) scale Zvezda cheapies so don't look as impressive, I found these WOTR(oses) Perry models would look ok and got a box so only about a third of my force is nice 28mm (and these are unpainted so far) Iwill post up the other stuff if you like..
Thanks for all the kind comments from everyone it's really encouraging!
