Imagination land

I've convinced my mates to give blood bowl ago, but after seeing the teams go for £40 and up on GW, I'm beginning to have doubts, but nevertheless, I am not one to be dissuaded by extravagant price's for lumps of pewter.

So things on the list for purchase/trade are:

The Mighty Zug
Griff Oberwald
Varag Goul Chewer

Blood bowl Human Team
Blood bowl Ogre Team
Blood bowl Ork Team
Blood Bowl Vampire Team

If anyone has anything from the list above, or even anything remotely associated with blood bowl, drop me a pm, and I'll find something to trade, be it money, warhammer, console games or unconditional respect.

There are 4 of us in total, But because 2 of us want to be human teams, but with ogre blockers (You can do that right?) we are going to split the human and ogre teams between us.

So Im looking for some advice on running a Blood bowl league. Would 4 people be enough? Or will I get some extra teams to bulk out the league table a bit. Like I said, there are only 4 of us, but I would be the host for the matches, as I have the bigger shed.

I was also going to make a pitch for the games, instead of that cardboard yoke. Complete with drink holders at each end of the table.

Just found these boyos selling blood bowl looking stuff:

I can highly recommend Impact! Miniatures. Great range of Fantasy Football/Blood Bowl minis from a number of different companies.

£40 for a whole team? That's not bad. It's a single land raider. Even for that, I don't think it's all that much, considering what you get.

Except the £40 is usually not a full team as you won't get the full set of positionals typically. The human team at £40 is a great example with only 2 Blitzers. First thing on most Human team rosters is 4 of those bad boys.

Actually the new metal Human team comes with ALL the positionals except the Ogre. It DOES come with 4 blitzers, 4 Catchers, and 2 throwers.

Other thoughts:

1) For the Orc team I highly recommend converting the Orks and Nobz from the Assault on Black Reach set. Snip guns, paint nicely and you are pretty much done.

2) You can only have one Ogre on the Human team. It may be cheaper to get an Ogre Kingdoms Bull or an older mono-pose Ogre for that.

3) Finally, you may want to check TFF (www.talkfantasyfootball.org) and look into the For Sale forum, and post your needs there (need to sing up). There are quite a few long time BB players on TFF who have pretty much every team made, and in multiples).

Cheers,
Piousman

War is not about who is right. It is about who is left.
