First of all, hello to everyone. I made my first post in the modeling and painting forum because of the images I have here but I got no responses so I suppose I should have posted here first. Friend of mine who has been at this stuff for 20 years convinced me to get started with it myself and has been very helpful with advice and tips of his own. He gave me some low detail space marines from a starter pack made sometime during the 90's on which to practice but they were nothing compared to painting this guy. I got about halfway done with him twice and stripped the paint both times, stuck with my third try after he sat primed for 3 days or so; everytime I sat down to start painting I got a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach because it was just such a daunting task considering how little experience I have.

Anyway, I'm hoping some of you might have some advice for me on places where I messed up or just some general tips. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Dakka! Well, I'm not much of an expert in painting, so this model looks very good. Give the forum some time, they will critique you on your work.

I like a deeper green for nurgle daemons myself, but I think the shading and contrast is pretty good.
