Human Auxiliary to the Empire

So recently a few of my friends and I have gotten into 40k. We've only been doing small scale 2 troops 1 hq compulsory battles thus far but its been a blast and we're thinking for expanding our armies. I currently dont have an army (I've been using my friend's space marines), as I'm still not sure which one I want to use (I do know i dont want it to be tyranide or any type of marine though, as thats what everyone has at my shop). I've been lurking these forums for a while though now and everyone here seems to be friendly and helpful.

Welcome to the forums. Try going to the army lists sections and see what people have to come up with, or the painting and modeling showcase to get inspired (to start an army like what you saw, etc.)
