Thanks to a friend of mine helping me get pack in to the hobby i have started painting my SM again.

In the past i have had a hard time keeping on track and sticking with a project so i am hopeing posting stuff on here will help me i would like to have thins army done for AdeptiCon 2012.

Here is the first pic. I got these scout after 'ardboys '09 and now putting them together.

The green and the bone look really great together but I'm not totally sold on the blue marigolds.

What are you planning for the rest of the army? Tactical squads? Assault squads?

Do you intend to field this force competitively or are you just in it for the painting and modelling side of things?

Oh and cool name btw.

I will be competitive with it. I will be fielding 2 tact squads, hestan and a librarian in termie armor a termie assault squad. That just what I have owned I'm not sure what else yet. The blue looks good on the power armor but I'm open to suggestions. Thanks for the comment.

I finally got my older modles striped and primed and i am working on getting the first coat of green on.

My lovely wife has confirmed the the blue arms look out of place. So if some one can give me some advice i would be in there debt.

More than two basic colours is too busy anyway, I find. Just paint those arms the same green and call them Vindicators (that is what I do, maybe with a slightly more olive-ish green, but with the same bone and black trim shoulder guards).

The green and bone looks great on the scouts. Leave the blue for libbies and ultrasmurfs. Lol. Id just stick with those two colours and maybe pick a stand out colour for the shoulder pads. Maybe red, black or purple. Whats the fluff for the chapter? That can sometimes help with picking your colours

If you want to keep three colours in your livery then you could always extend the black down from the pauldron's rim. Black gauntlets, if not the whole arm would look good I think.

And the fluff for them in short is directly after the Emperor was put on the Golden Throne he uses his pykic mobo jumbo to splice all the loyalist primarchs gene seed to make a chapter a space marines that would be built and trained to kill there brothers if the ever to go to chaos.

I got about 3 pages wrote. I like the idea of a chapter the is made to fight there own. And also with the gene seed splicing i can but sw or ba and paint them my colors. I figure that with so much genetic material that a person body would adapt differently hence why some of them would look and act like non-codex chapters.

Painting looks good, but the fluff sounds very Mary-Sue.

I agree I'm trying real hard to make it not so much. It has gone through 3 rewrite. As i get it where i want to be ill be posting it.

Well then just don't try to make them too special. Have them have Raven Guard geneseed - which is unusual, but not Mary-Sueish - and specialize in covert ops, which, too, is unusual for a chapter, but not so much it was entirely unbelievable (Alpha Legion did that, too, after all). Avoid making them the best in it and trying to describe them in cool ways. They will be cool by virtue of being space marines and being a chapter nobody else has, but if you try to make them better than everyone, they will not be cool.

Its getting to were I need to start thinking about a chapter symbols and Im out of idea. I want something assassiny but not from assassins creed I Just cant seem to find eny thing i like.

It been a little over a week but i got a lot one on my tac squad.

its hard to see but on the arms I dry brushed Boltgun metal then washed with devlin mud then did a lighter bry brush of mithril




I think i may want to go over the high lights again make the stand out more or try and do a small line of white or bleached bone
All the need are bolters and they are done

Well i have been working on them some I plan on doing more tonight after work.

I did get a few games in this weekend. I am in a Escalation league

The first game was 500 points I fielded

1 captain with power sword and bolter

10 tac squad with flamer/ missile launcher

5 sniper scout squad with missile launcher and camo cloaks

The game only went to turn 2. He was playing DE ravenwing army with the point cost he had like 5 bikes ravenwing commander and an attack bike. His one mistake was he bunched most of his unit together to get to my tac squad and i wiped the bike squad out with the vin. The commander (who was by himself because he was on a jet bike0 got picke off with my snipers. witch left my tac squad to just shoot the crap out of the attack bike. All in all it was a a fun game it was the first time i have ever tabled any one. But the dice love me and he could not get that 3+ amour save. got 20 point for that round.

Next game was 750

Vulcan

10 tac squad flamer/missile launcher

10 tac squad melta/mm

5 sniper scout squad

I was playing against a chaos player running berserkers in a rhino and a 10 tac squad with a LC lord
The long an short of this game is I won with the skin of my teeth by the end I had Vulcan a Sargent and the vin. Once again the vin was the MVP it doubled out his lord and Vulcan was a beast in cc with his 3 attacks and a MC relicblade. I got 16 point for that round.

Next round is 1000 im not sure if i want to add termies or more tanks or transports. wee will see how it goes.
