The Song of Midnight’s deck reverberated with quick footfalls, slamming against the shadowed floors. In other times this would be nothing unusual-when a warrior of the VIII Legion wished to go somewhere, they did it with haste. This time was different however, because these footsteps belonged to the Librarian Loc’kra.
Loc’kra was not a sociable man. He did not spend much time amongst his brothers, preferring to stick to the confines of his own chambers. Indeed, his own…unique gifts meant he did not fit in well with others. This time however, it was different.
He burst onto the command check and marched towards the throne, where Captain Ango’han had swivelled his chair round with an exasperated expression on his face.
“What the hell is it now, Loc?”
“Sir, there’s a Legion ship in range.”
“You think we haven’t noticed? We’re trying to hail them now. I swear, if it’s that bastard Sevatar…”
“It’s not.”
“Oh really? And what, praytell, makes you so sure Librarian?” Ango’han grinned wolfishly. “As if I need to ask.”
Loc’kra tilted his head to the side, ignoring the slight. After a tense moment of silence, he replied “This ship is…special.”
Ango’han’s eyes widened in the closest thing to fear an Astartes could probably feel.
“You mean it’s…it’s him?”
Loc’kra nodded. Ango’han looked down, despair etched across his face.
“Feth.” He growled.

So as you can probably gather from that drawn out introduction, I have finally completed my version of the Night Haunter to accompany my 8th company to battle; and I thought I'd display it here for kicks and giggles. A few points;
1). I am a god-awful painter. I would be the first to admit that. And my photography skills aren't great either, so I apologise for the poor photo quality. Hopefully you can still make out enough of the detail though *crosses everything*.
2). Yes, I see the mold lines now. Trust me guys, no one is more annoyed about this than I am, and I've already kicked myself thrice times with considerable force in penance.
3). Why the wings? Well, Night Haunter is described at one point (though the source eludes my memory) of having a 'cloak of raven's feathers'. Since he needed a Jump pack and my greenstuff skills are Terribad, I thought that actual wings were the next best thing.

So, without further ado:

C&C is of course, welcomed.
Cheers, LLF.

I like the design off the model, and the painting is fine. You've made a really good custom and the body and legs fits really well together.

I hope to see more off these Night lords, after seeing this it's got me interested.

Well, my dear Blood Reaper, you know what they say; ask and ye shalt receive.
So below's a picture of the Night Haunter, showing a size comparison between the Rhino Archangel of Horror, Captain Ango'Han of the 8th company in his personalised suit of Terminator armour, and brother Varlus of First Claw. So, a Power armoured Marine, a Terminator, and a Tank, standing on a Skaven army book of course.

Again, sorry for the poor quality.

All look very good, I especially like the look off the Marine. Will you start a blog for the force?

Perhaps. It's already up to ~1000pts, and is in various states of disrepair. Also, my incredible ability to procrastinate fo rlonger than is feasible may hamper such a thing. But I'll certainly consider it.

Excellent, I've always liked the Night Lords style of combat and colors.

That's awesome! I love the black wings. I also love that you resisted the urge to put bat wings on his head. Thanks for that. I like Kurze alot, and you've repped him well here. Have you thought about possibly giving a little tint to the wings, with an extra drybrushing or a wash of some kind?

Thanks Jim!
Although you can't really see it on the photo, the wings have actually been drybrushed with a light grey to make them 'pop' a bit more. I certainly see what you're saying about the wash though-which one would you suggest? Blue maybe?

Thanks, any suggestions for improvements?
