I just started a CSM army and wanted make up some custom fluff for them. I am heavily influenced by one of my favorite TV shows, as you will be able to tell. I like to think of them as renegades who are not wholly devoted to chaos. This is my first attempt at writing fluff ever! Please be gentle!

As his armor, still spattered with the blood of the fould orks was carefull removed, he contemplated the hopelessness of his situation, and that of his battle brothers of the Sons of Anarchy. Today, the battle was won, but the future seemed grim indeed. He had protected them, and the people of Semeria IV for generations. Chapter Master Bernissart stared down at his hands, searching for answers that he would never find. For three ago centuries, his fate, and that of his chapter, had been changed forever. After launching a crusade to rid a backwater planet of chaos influence, Imperial forces suffered major setbacks on the ground, and the decision was made by the Ordo Malleus to declare Exterminatus. There was one relatively large population center on the planets largest continent, where Bernissart and his battle brothers had encountered very little chaos taint, and thought the loyal citizens of this city could be saved, though with a great deal of effort. Despite his protests, the Inquisition was willing to take no chances, feeling that the whole planet had to be condemed to prevent the spread of chaos, and those who had been witness to it. Millions of souls, vaporised in an instant. Just before the exterimatus had taken place, a lone vessel was detected trying to escape the planet. It was an unarmed transport ship, and the chapter flagship vessel was in position to intercept, and was ordered to do so by the Inquisitorial commander who insisted over Bernissart's protests that "Anarchy will not be tolerated in the Imperium!". Under the eyes of the entire crusade force, they had no choice but to comply, and the last innocent survivors of the planet they had fought and died to protect, were wiped from existance. Moments later, the entire chapter fleet, had vanished into warp space, fleeing their hellish ordeal. Their old title long since lost to history, they were convinced this could not be that path the benevolent god emperor of mankind had intended. They were no longer servants of the brutal regime that masqueraded as protectors of humanity, they had become renegades, they had become Sons of Anarchy. After their desertion, the Inquisition unsuccessfully hunted the Sons for nearly a century, until the search was called off, the powers that be satisfied to beleive they had been lost forever, and erase their forgotten name from the histories. Many years later, their names and deeds, as well as the campaign that drove them away long since forgotten, the Sons emerged from the warp. The planet of Semeria IV, was an unimportand, strategically worthless, outpost of the Imperium. Recently, they had been plauged by raids from vicious ork tribes, that were taking a horrible toll on the planets inhabitants, and the defences would not hold out much longer. From his ship, Bernissart had observed these events unfolding, and that the Imperial respons had always been either too late, or woefully inadequate. During one such attack, where it seemed the WAAAAAGHHH of Warboss 'Eadskwasha would finally overwhelm the defences of the capital city, and massacre the populace, The Sons of Anarchy dropped from orbit onto the battlefield, raining death upon and routing the unsuspecting Ork horde. Bernissart made a pact with the Governor of Semeria IV, that he would offer protection to his world and people as their new homeworld, In exchange for the governor not reporting their presence to Imperial Authorities.
This arangement worked well for both parties, since the Imperial authorities were only too happy to stop receiveing desperate pleas for assiatance from what they saw as a worthless, backwater planet. Since that day, centuries had passed, and now trouble was brewing. A high ranking government minister, had been found to be corrupt by the inquiries of the Sons of Anarchy, as well as the planetary government, and sought revenge for his humiliation. In secret, he and his supporters sent a transmition to Imperial authorities alerting them of the presence of the Renegade chapter on the planet, and also disabled part of the planetary defence network alowing the Orks to launch a raid that would kill many civilians before being halted, turning much of the populace against Bernissart and the sons. Now, with the orks still a threat, and a possible Imperial force on the way, Would the Sons of Anarchy be able to continue their dream of serving the emporer but defying the tyranny of the Imperium.

Good army fluff, I was wondering something though, are they renegades using Imperial tech or are they Chaos (codexes)? I know it may seem like a dumb question, but it is because I am getting confused with the title and the fluff.

They are chaos space marines on the tabletop, if that is what you are asking. And thankyou, it's my first time ever writing
