Now that I have my camera back I was able to take a few shots of what I have been working on the last couple of weeks. The link below will take you to where I have them posted.

http://charlestonara.blogspot.com/2011/08/leading-elements-of-1st-fallschirmjager.html

This is my first real attempt at painting 15mm and following the various guides they have which are all from FoW. The Fallschirmjagers are being painted using the lay out from the Hell's Highway for Operation Market Garden. Im aware that the uniforms for the FJ in Italy are probably different!

Once I get the photos hosted somewhere other then Prisca Photo Album Ill start a meager Army profile.

That's all for now, please tell me what you think! Not that greatest in the war gaming community but Im rather proud.

Any chance of hosting them on Dakka for the work blocked?

Finally figured out how to post the correct links. Here they are. For what they are worth anyway.

FJ Cmd Elements

Close up of 2iC

Heer HMG Platoon

Side Shot of Heer HMG Platoon

FJ 1st Platoon (only the 1st section)

Side Shot on FJ 1st Platoon

Right now, this is all there is. None of it is completely based yet but once I finish the first FJ Platoon Ill sit down and complete that and should have another round of Pictures. Hope that helps those that couldnt go to link.

Very good Comintern, should look great on the table when the basing is completed.

Camo looks particularly well done as well.

Some of the pictures do look a bit shiny though (probably lighting/camera) - Have you thought about a light drybrush to dirty them up a bit? I know I was quite pleased with the results when I did a similar first effort at 15mm on my Paras.

Mostly the glare is from the lighting. The Lamp I use to paint with is an architects over head and so that is what I used. Only effective way I could get the area lit enough to get decent pictures. The last thing I do is giving a dirty wash with black to take that painted look and let it settle in the various cracks and lines.

The light is literally less then 12 inches from the models in some of those pictures.

Our escalation match with my friends 91st Cavalry has moved up to 700 points. This is what I plan on bringing to Defend The Hotel Continental!

Infantry Ace - Hauptmann Starke
2iC - Leutnent Lapp

2x 8cm Mortars

1 Fallschirmjäger Platoon w/ 3 sections

1 Fallschirmjäger HMG Platoon w/ 2 sections

1 Fallschirmjäger HMG Platoon w/ 1 section

1 Heer Nebelwerfer41 Battery

that is 705pt out of Cassino Intelligence Book.

My Question is though, since initially I am going to be on the defensive, and the Hotel Continental affords me the fortuitous position of turning HMG teams into Pillboxs/Bunkers. Should I drop the two 8cm Mortar teams and just bring the second Fallschirmjäger HMG Platoon as full strength, giving me 8 HMGs to dominate board.

Bare in mind, that for the second turn of Cassino, there are still no vehicles allowed so I do not have to worry about Armor. I also do not think that Ill be smoking very much. It would I think benefit him more then me.

Thoughts?
