Nice! Thanks for the review. I have the original heavy gear rules box and a couple of gears ( that I think are now out of scale), and have been sniffing around HG again. I may consider picking this up.

The reasoning behind the 3 on 3 setup is that Hunters/Jaegers are easy to build into a bunch of different Combat Groups by adding a two-pack. Add another pack of Hunters or Jaegers to make a base GP, or add Jaguars or Black Mambas for a more elite squad. A lot of people felt that had too many Hunters/Jaegers and wanted to be able to focus on other stuff.

Thanks for the review. I am still new to heavy gear, but not new to wargames. I opted to start with the full-color books, so I could learn more about the game before choosing an army. My second choice would have been one of the starter armies. However, I can see the appeal of the two player set. It is inexpensive for a starter set and lets people give the rules a try without sinking lots of cash into the game.
