Story ideas?? Just hit Netflix and start streaming Dr. Who episodes from the last 50 years or so...You have a wellspring of ideas there and if your players aren't big whovians all the better. Untapped and ready to go adventure concepts.

Also you can look on ebay for the old FASA Dr. Who adventure modules as well. You can then port those ideas over to your game for use. As I recall there were a few that were rather interesting: One set in Fuedal Japan; another in the far future on a space ship; still another set in victorian London; another in the Roman Empire and so on.
There used to be some metal figs on the market for Dr. Who, but I don't know if they are still out there or not or who makes them anymore. Apologies!
The newer rules are definitely much less confusing than the original FASA Doctor Who boxed set which had to be one of the cludgiest and non-intuitive systems I have ever played with only character creation for Aftermath being more frustrating...
