Really?
Really? Especially given how bad the last 2 CoD games were, even in MP.
Though I suppose it makes sense to emulate Halo, but with fees.

I lost my respect fur COD after WaW and lost my respect for Halo once 343 changed the HALO CE anniversary multiplayer to halo reach multiplayer, and COD elite made me wonder why I live in the same house with someone dumb enough to waste their money with it.....Praise the lord that space marine is coming out or I would sell my xbox...

Dogma, this is an old topic and has been discussed before. CoD Elite is more like a CoD facebook where you can create clans, create clan websites, post videos, and is basically a website you can have for the price of Elite instead of going out and buying your own web address. Also, if you actually do some research you can easily see that there is a free and a premium version of the service. The premium service offers competitions with prizes similar to most F2P games found on computers, LOTRO for example is F2P but if you pay for it you get store credits for free each month along with several other bonuses, in World of Tanks if you pay you get gold which can be used to buy better tanks or ammo.

I liked Black Ops. I've been playing it more than I should be this weekend, what with double XP and all.

Black Ops storymode was fantastic, I really enjoyed it.
It such a shame when I hear people who have never played CoD storymode, the one part that they actually manage to do right.

I think people are forgetting about the story-mode, they say its a terrible story because I don't think they actually grasp it. The story takes place during the 60's and 70's when huge conspiracy theories were running rampant, and they were all terribly over the top conspiracies. The game was over all the story of an incredibly over the top conspiracy and if you couldn't guess that it was meant to be so then you missed the ending. You know the ending with Navy ships all over the place, phantoms flying in a celebratory fashion over head. If that doesn't put the nail in the over the top casket then I don't know what will.
The zombie mode 'ending' was a bit upsetting but Treyarch knows that, hell they have one of the characters mention it so I don't think that the zombie story is actually over.

Oh people certainly grasped the point. The problem was that over top conspiracy theories are too ridiculous to be believable (EDIT: Stories like that need to be more tongue and cheek to pass). The past three CoD games have been extremely bad Tom Clancy style military thrillers, and Tom Clancy Military thrillers have never been that good.

If you can't have fun playing a video game, maybe it's not the other people that are taking it too seriously.
Does it occur to you that people like the games and that's why we continue to buy them? In record breaking numbers?

Richtofen DID BLOW UP THE ENTIRE WORLD. I hope its the end anyway. After Call of the Dead and Shangri-la, i wanted to punch a baby, and everyone at treyarch.
@ Rain: No, i can stand a couple matches of terrible people, but when people noob tube, and camp like it was their job, and when you loose terribly 27 1/2 games in a row, wouldn't you want to just beat them with a powerfist? Really, its not fun when you can't win because of the same stupid stuff.

Funny enough, some places will rate Zombie Mode higher than the first left 4 dead. Zombies ate my neighbors is one of the top games too, I remember playing that on my SNES. Hated those babies with the throwing axes.

So... you saying that another game did it years ago for free doesn't matter in this case. In fact there is a free version and a premium version, so you don't have to subscribe to it if you don't want to.

My god you didn't read the whole spiel about it did you? If people like a game then they'll pay to get premium to support it, but this Elite is just an extra feature added on to the game. Some people like to make clans and then make clan websites devoted to their clans. This costs money to buy and maintain the web address and some people don't know how to maintain said web address, Elite is an option that allows them to pay someone to maintain the site for them while they edit the clan 'website' to fit their own needs. Its basically facebook for Call of Duty. Just because you think its garbage, doesn't mean everyone else does and seeing as though it makes good profits and the zombie mode has so much of a following that it has been rated as a better zombie game than Left 4 Dead show some kind of evidence of the quality of the game.
Again: Read the actual information, my god I can't believe that I'm telling you that for once. Actually, here's the link to the part that has the information that actually tells you about the free version and premium version.
http://www.callofduty.com/elite/whats-included.html#
It looks like you get DLC monthly for free if you get premium, so in the end it may be cheaper to get premium, it depends on the value of the DLC. Get some knowledge dogma, its good for you.

It will forever blow my mind why people think the zombie mode is anything more than crap. Granted, I haven't played it since black ops released, so I missed the big patch and all that.
Poor hit collision
repetitive to hell
stuck in the same area.
Could you even pick the char you wanted?
L4d didn't blow me away, but to say that zombie mode is anything more that a cheap, inferior knockoff is absurd. Maybe it got better, maybe it didn't, but my memories of the are def not good ones.

Nazi Zombies actually created an in depth story for something that was supposed to just be some silly little game mode. I never had an issue with poor hit collision, however there were times when a zombie had raised its hand just in time to take the hit instead of its head. It also involved easter eggs that evolved from just simple 'hold action on this teddy bear' into whole sequences that at times are more involved than some of the objectives in even L4D 2. However, after Call of the Dead the sequences made it mandatory to have 4 players in the game. I remember when Rezurrection was coming out, I told my friends that it would be crazy if instead of being on the moon it was on a fake moon landing set in Area 51. The game starts you in Area 51 and after a teleporter activates you take it to the moon base. The story almost completes itself in Rezurrection, but you can go back to Area 51 after blowing up the Earth and the zombies are still there so it most likely is not over.
To tell the truth I found the characters in Nazi Zombies to be much more entertaining than those in L4D, and the long easter egg sequences are fantastically difficult and their story is better than L4D in my opinion.
