As i stated in my introduction post i am busy with making my own chapter.

Now as for fluff (love it!) i still need some work and since in not -that- familiar i would love to hear some suggestions which do not interrupt with official fluff.

As for the chapter, they are based on the Imperial Fists. Taking along their rituals such as the Honor Duels and the way of recruiting.

I call them the Iron Guardians.
Just as their spawning chapter and as their name implies they are well at guarding, their style of war is to hold the line at all costs and maybe even press the line forwards. The only ever reason to retreat is to set up a well discussed ambush in a location not too far back. Even though they prefer ranged combat to strike down all that dare to approach they all pack a good punch when you come in range of their melee weaponry, in these close quarter fights their true determination for holding the line will show through.

To aid their way of battle they have selected the fiercest of warriors within their ranks, these select few become the assault squad. The sole purpose of these squads is to go into guerrilla style warfare to disrupt the enemies supply lines or otherwise hinder them in their advancing. To become one of the assault marines is a great honor, it shows the marine has proven himself in combat more then once and has a fanatic spirit.

Thats what i have so far. I still need one or more recruiting planets, a home planet and some more background story. This is where i hope i can get some suggestions on, what else would you suggest that could be added to the chapter 'records'.

Its good haha, I dont know what to say. You can tell some glorious battles they fought or something.
Also, wich I did but never posted because of my crack smartphone: give every squad leader and your chapter leader a little fluff story.

I'm assuming they are a planet based chapter. You should describe the planet and whether it affects them.
What gene-seed do they use? Do they revere their genetic heritage? Are they close with their foundig legion or are they at odds with them?
What is their history of contact with other Imperial organisations? (AdMech, Inq, other Astartes IG etc)
Do they have any long standing enemies? Why do they hate them so much?
What is their view on faith? Are they dogmatic (Like the Black Templars) or pragmatic (Like the Raven Guard or the Raptors)
What is their view on standard humans? Do they look down on them? Do they try to preserve their lives? Do they feel nothing towards them?
Are there notable heroes in the chpater? What did they do?
Answering these should give you a solid advancement for your chapter background. Add notable events or characters in the chapter at will.
