So coming from the site forums.spacebattles.com I would like to see if we can now vs debate on this site or a regular debate section. I have seen some vs debates on this site but they did not last long and have been gone for a while. I like the idea of universe X vs Universe Y or what if's or other topics. So I would like to know could we have some kind of Vs debate topics or debate section? I know we have the Polls option but that is for something else.

Yeah, we have Fluff and we have OT. There's enough Debating in those. We don't need more.

I don't think the mods want to run around locking all the heated debating in a forum meant for debating

Such as it is, there are well-meaning and articulate and intelligent posters that can progress a debate in their respective forums. It is the others who interject out of publicity, nerdrage, drama, ect. that dillute the discussion. Proper modding removes those negative aspects, and an additional forum to police would probably be a bad idea.

What you describe probably fits the survivor games forum, actually.
