Hello everybody, so as I have finished painting up my 1500 pt list for tyranids, I had thought that I wanted to to Blood angels, but after playing "Space Marine" and seeing orks in their full glory, The soft spot in my heart that I had for orks grew 10 times, and turned a shade of green . I wanted to start up a force but the thought of how much money I would have to spend was extremely daunting, but it was as if Gork and Mork heard my cries and with the surging power of the green tide, a Spark of luck hit my way.


A couple weeks ago, My good friend of a few years notified me of the recent passing of a wealthy elderly man who greatly supported his church, who just so happened to be greatly involved in the Hobby of 40k ( who knew!?) The man had literally a room full of unopened 40k miniatures, that of which he passed to my friend in his will and testament.

So my friend asked me along with another friend to come and help sort it all out at his house, and to our amazement my friend gave us each a Big box full of unopened 40k boxes containing the army he knew we liked. My friend recieved a ton of Imperial guard, which he had been playing since he started 40k.

Years ago I played orks and I really enjoyed it, but for some horrible mistake I got rid of them, and regretted it ever since, My friend remembering how I played orks and yep...you guessed it! Gave me a box full of unopened Boxes of orks (you could understand how Excited I was)

It was as if it was destiny.

I recieved:

-AOBR set
-Deff dread (new design)
-Box of 3 Killa kans (new design)
- Box of ork boyz
- Weirdboy
- Painboy with grot orderly

Now this isnt even close to the actual amount of ork things he had, these are the duplicates of what my friend already had from what he had recieved along with a bunch of other things including 19 grot tanks and a Grot mega tank.

I was extremely Grateful, and I feel like I need to do this man justice, He was planning on building a huge apocalypse army (as shown by all the lists he was writing, and all the Imperial armour books he had, along with ork forgeworld model stats)

So I have decided that Im going to build this army in his honor, I sincerely thank this man for giving me a 2nd chance at orks and bringing me back to my first love DA ORKS!!!

I have as of now painted 4 ork boyz in the Colors of Bad moons since I love their fluff and looks, I'll post those up in a minute, but first I'd like to show you my first orks.

they are horribly painted haha but it really does remind me of how far I've come from when I first started so...here are my first orks from years ago









Now, I dont have any of these anymore other than the looted rhino, which has been stripped and primed again. the Shokk attack gun is in pieces, and I have one tank busta left unpainted.

And now I'd like to introduce you to my brand new orks with my better painting abilities






Well thats the end of my story and now everyone is updated to present times, I sure hope you guys enjoyed the read and will continue to follow my blog, I have alot of fun things planned for this army. Including redeeming myself with my orks and to complete this army for that man

as of right now Im working on getting the other 16 boyz painted up before I start anything else.

Neat. Needs more new orks

Its like night and day!

They look good to me.

Only 2 things i would add/change:

1) Drill out the gun barrels, makes a huge difference!

2) The brown of the boots and the ground are too similar (may be the pic) and as such the boots kind of get lost in the base. So i would say either a) lighten the boots, or b) keep the boots the same so it matches the other leathers and lighten the base or change the gravel to grey or a reddish brown to help the model stick out more.

Can't wait to see more!

I would totally drill out the barrels if I had a hobby drill haha

and about the base, it isnt painted at all yet lol since I havent been able to decide what colors would look best

Vast improvment on your skills. Those Bad moonz are looking really nice. Keep it up on the green skins. They are my first and favorite army as well.

My brain is a bit drained from painting from batch painting 16 orks over the past couple days, Im actually surprised I was able to paint this many and to a pretty good standard including lots of freehand checks, flames, and moons, all from black undercoat check them out





I think those blood angels have found a bit of trouble....

I paint my yellows like this:

1 layer scorched brown

1 layer snakebite leather

1 layer lyanden darksun

and then a wash of Gryphonne Sepia

New batch of Orks looks good and the weirdboy looks awesome.

Awesome painboy. It looks kinda blue though with the flash, you should use some window light so all the peeps on dakka can appreciate the paint more.

Also I stand by LAs Totally Awesome. I have found it at both the 99 cent stores and Dollar tree. It is a yellow color and does the trick every time.

Hey everybody a quick update, I finished painting 1 out of 3 killa kans I have, and also have my Deff dread primed up and ready to go.

Also I finished up my 3 deffkoptas on friday, Im hoping to get the pictures up of them by tomorrow. But for now here is my first Killa kan





I feel like Im starting to get alot better with my freehand work with the flames and checkers, but Ive really found such a huge amount of joy from painting my badmoons, it really is an awesome thing.

Great job on the kan!! I just got a box of them last night and I just finished assembling them. Soon we can have an ork v. ork battle. So jealous of the freehand checks. My inability to draw or paint a square is going to be my orky downfall...

My update for tonight! Ive finally finished painting up all 3 of my Killa Kans, I'm going to keep practicing the Black Gem method (which I used on the small orbs on the kan to the left) that Gitsplitta showed me, man It'd be awesome to have him look at my blog. But all hoping aside here are my Killa Kans!




Gonna need to get a nice camera soon and learn how to throw in some backdrops to get better pictures for you guys

Next Im going to finish my Deff dread, I also have 10 shoota boys to build but Im waiting for my russian ork heads to come in the mail, and Im planning an awesome conversion project for my orks coming as soon as I get more cash.
