Subject: Any upcoming silly/not the most serious games you're thinking of getting?
I decided to make this topic when I was thinking about how many games out there I was thinking of getting that arent the most serious or critically acclaimed (assuming anyways, silly games CAN be critically acclaimed), but look gosh darn fun!
With my street fighter buzz going on, I finally decided to check out Street Fighter X Tekken. With all those crazy combos and cast of characters (final fight and figging Playstation Cats for crying out loud!), I'm pretty hyped for it!

Orcs Must Die! Lacks one vital component to make it onto the must haves.
Co-op. Apparently they're planning on adding it after releasing it (unless news has changed since I last looked), but until then it's a no go for me.

That's always kind of stuck out for me too, being women in video games. For example, dead or alive beach volleyball. I didn't buy it because of the girls in bikinis, I bought it because the volleyball part was simply and fun, and it had a good soundtrack. People who like games because of some sexual fixation with the character is creepy indeed.

Many would say the same of playing with toy soldiers over the age of 12. Just playing devil's advocate here.

Yeah, I'm with you on that. Personally, I prefer my women in video games to be more badass than fantasy-fodder. I particularly like the female characters in the Left 4 Dead series. Not over-sexualised, they just look like regular people. I don't have a problem with things being sexualised when it makes sense in context, but I don't like games to have girls in flippy skirts showing their pants all the time for no reason other than fanboy gratification.

I'm afraid we may be in a minority on that.

Hollywood does it just as much, why would it be any creepier in a video game than a movie?
Because in a movie, its RL unless its a CGI movie, in which case it's the same thing.
but to each their own I suppose.
The thing is a lot of female video game characters are hyper-sexualized and designed to have perfect bodies and facial features, so it's hard not to be attracted to them.

Minnesota, land of 10,000 Lakes and 10,000,000,000 Mosquitos
Considering the sheer camp in the rest of the thread, I feel inadequate for only posting that I've got Serious Sam 3: BFE on pre-order right now...
Although I want to say that Serious Sam: Double D was amazingly campy. You make weaponry by stapling guns together (no, literally, stacking guns on top of each other to fire them all simultaneously) and one of the stages involves fighting the mighty Vuvuzelators - a stack of pancakes with legs, with vuvuzelas sticking out of them.
