Army Selection
Each player is allowed up to 200 points for his army under the following restrictions
0-1 Elite Choice
0-2 Troop Choices
0-1 Fast Attack choices
No models with the unique rule or the special character rule may be taken nor may any vehicle with a combined armor value above 32 be used (Add front, side and rear together. IE a rhino would have 32 combined as Front is 11, Side is 11 and rear is 10)
No model with a 2+ save may be taken or which has a toughness greater than 5
Units MAY be purchased below minimum starting strength (as per your codex) with the following restriction. If a unit is purchased below it’s minimum strength you may only purchase the basic model, not any upgrade characters such as sergeants. Each model in a below minimum strength squad may only be given wargear that is available to ANY member of the unit. Below minimum sized squads still use up a
FOC selection. The cost of an individual model should be listed on virtually all unit entries (If not then divide the unit size by its total cost)
Example
A player wants to include Sternguard in his kill team but does not have the points for a minimum sized squad of 5. As he has not taken an Elite unit yet he decides to take a below minimum sized squad of 2 Sternguard. He uses the individual model cost of 25 points and then may give the Sternguard any upgrades that are available to “any” model in the unit such as Combi Weapons. He may not give them any of the special weapon upgrades listed such as Heavy Flamers, Lascannons, etc. These are reserved for normal sized units. In addition, the 2 sternguard use up his Elite selection for his army
Additional Rules
Game Length & Victory Conditions
Each missions regardless of individual special rules uses the following victory condition. The game continues normally with each player taking his or her turn until a player’s army is reduced to half or less starting models. If this occurs a players who army is reduced in such a manner MUST make a LEADERSHIP test at the start of his turn using the highest leadership value of his currently on the board. If this test is passed he may continue his turn as normal but if it is failed then his army senses the battle is lost and they retreat from battle giving his opponent a victory.
Every turn after the first that a player must take this special leadership test a cumulative -1 penalty is applied (For example, the third time he takes the test it is at a -2)
Every Man For Himself: All models operate as individual units during the battle even if selected as part of a unit and may not form units with one another. Any model may decide to split its shooting or close combat attacks among any valid targets (If it has multiple attacks)
Specialist Troops: Before Deployment each player may select 3 different models of his to be “Specialists”. Each of these models may be given one Universal Special Rule chosen from the main Warhammer
40k rulebook. A different special rule must be given to each specialist
